Valley View Veterinary Clinic Introduce
Since its founding in 2004, **Valley View Veterinary Clinic** has served as a cornerstone of dedicated small animal healthcare in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and the surrounding metro area. Established by Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduates, Dr. Barbara Lee and Dr. Jody Strohbehn, the clinic operates on a foundation of deep community ties and a profound love for animals. This commitment is literally a family affair, as their daughter, also a veterinarian, joined the practice, making Valley View a rare third-generation veterinary family business.
The clinic is dedicated to offering a full spectrum of services, ranging from essential preventive care to highly specialized medical and surgical procedures. They combine the latest advances in veterinary medicine—such as **laser technology** and digital radiology—with a philosophy centered on compassionate care and strong client education. The highly trained staff works as a cohesive team to ensure every pet parent is fully informed and every patient receives the attention and expertise necessary for the best possible health outcome.
Valley View Veterinary Clinic has grown to meet the demands of their community, recently expanding into a new clinic space designed specifically for an enhanced patient and client experience. This commitment to improvement, paired with their focus on kindness during all stages of a pet’s life—from puppy and kittenhood to offering a comfortable, private setting for end-of-life care—is why so many Council Bluffs residents have entrusted their cherished companions to the Valley View team for years, and why they often refer to the staff as "super awesome."
Location and Accessibility
Valley View Veterinary Clinic is conveniently located at **15025 Valley View Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51503, USA**. This address positions the clinic perfectly for residents of Council Bluffs and the broader eastern Nebraska/western Iowa region, making it an easy and accessible choice for routine visits and critical care.
The clinic's newly designed facility prioritizes client convenience and patient comfort. To streamline the visit experience and minimize stress for nervous pets, the building design features segregated areas, directing clients and their companions to separate cat and dog sides upon entry, ensuring better patient flow and a calmer atmosphere.
Accessibility is a key feature of the hospital, ensuring all members of the community can bring their pets in for care. The location is equipped with:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot
- Wheelchair accessible restroom (an important amenity)
The clinic operates on an **onsite services** model and strongly recommends that clients book appointments in advance. Scheduling appointments allows the dedicated team to allocate the necessary time and resources for comprehensive medical consultation and treatment, ensuring that the compassionate, specialized care they promise is delivered efficiently during every visit.

- I've taken all my pets here. My old lab went here from one year old (when I got him), to his 12th year, when he was hit with a double why of heart worms (made it through), then cancer. Their "end of life" room is comfortable and they are so extremely friendly and helpful. Their end of life packages are amazing as well. It still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. I lost that good boy 6 years ago now. May 24 · Brian Walker
- Just had to make a sad decision to let my baby girl go to rainbow bridge. Valley View staff was absolutely WONDERFUL, COMPASSIONATE and had empathy. I was late for our time because I just kept wanting to change my mind and be selfish. When we did weigh in and we discussed reasons I felt it was time, they said I was making the right decision for her best interest. As hard as it was, they were understanding of my tardiness and not rescheduling allowing her to suffer even longer. They allowed me to stay as long as I needed. I cuddled her for a few minutes then went to my car out the side door and bawled my heart out there. But, I would recommend Valley View for any euthanization as they have warm hearts. Thank you for helping me through this process being I was all alone after. Thank you! 🙏 May 09 · Mary Janel Selix
- Let me explain to you how great Dr. Lee and the staff is. My 1 year old Golden Retriever ate 2 magnets and a Lego. The magnets ruptured her intestines and perforated her stomach. Dr. Lee put her in for emergency surgery, staying late to work on my dog. She could have sent me to urgent care which would have cost even more. Dr. Lee personally called me with an update after the surgery then checked on my dog around 9:30 PM and personally called with an update. That is care and compassion. Through the next 3 days Dr. Lee has personally called me every day with updates. Many doctors would have put the task of updates with a tech. I appreciate the care Dr. Lee shows. I live 30 minutes away and was going to switch a vet closer but after this I will always take my dogs to Dr. Lee there isn’t a doctor out there that cares more. Also the price of the surgery was much less than many other vets. With Valley View Vet Clinic you get fair prices with care beyond and above any other vet out there. Here is a picture of the magnet eater. I’m very lucky Dr. Lee saved my dog January 16 · Chelsea Cross
- Wonderful! They really care for your animals. I have cats that are not always cooperative lol but everyone at Valley View is very kind and patient. There's even a few who've won over my fur babies when it comes to nail trims. If you have cats, you know that's not an easy task lol. ;) August 23 · Donna Hiatt
