VANGUARD Veterinary Clinic Reviews
Dr. Thornton is a pleasure. She and her staff lay out treatment options with transparent pricing, without trying to upsell. They usually have appointments available within a couple days. They are kind of far away for me, but I still make the trip because I've had nothing but good experiences here!
Jun 15, 2025 · Katie CasletonDo not take your pets here. The staff, especially management, is incredibly rude and incompetent, and they are likely not performing any of the services you pay for because they won't let you be present with your animal for anything. I've had several dogs in my life, been to many vets, and this Vanguard has been the absolute worse experience at a vet BY FAR.I brought my dog here on July, 10th 2025 at 1:30pm, so whoever is actually in charge of this operation can fire the manager that was present at this time.I brought my dog in for a vaccine, heart worm test, and heartworm medication. I have been bringing my dog to Vanguard for years now, and I was excited to try this new location. In the examination room, I agreed to the services my dog needed with the 'nurse,' and then all of a sudden she walks up to me and begins to try to take the leash out of my hands without explaining anything. I ask her what she's doing, and she rudely says, "I'm taking him to the back!" I have to ask for clarification of what is going on, and she says the shots and test are "done in the back."I tell her that is okay as long as I can be there with my pup. I explain that he was abandoned by his previous owner and he's a small breed (beagle and dachshund), so he gets extremely nervous without me present. She replies, "Nobody can go in the back, and I don't care."She leaves the room, and sends in the manager who is even more grumpy for no reason. He comes in and immediately says angrily, "Boss, I need to take your dog in the back!" I say the same thing I told the nurse about him being nervous, that I need to be there with him, and I won't cause an issue. I also ask if they can just do it in the exam room, but of course, he refuses.I end up telling him 'just forget it then' because I won't let some random angry strangers take my dog in the back without me making sure my dog is okay and that the services are actually performed. I leave the room, and I proceed to wait in line at the front to make sure I don't need to do something before leaving. To my surprise, the manager follows me out from the other side, and yells in front of everyone, "You can leave!" I tell him I need the document back that I signed for the services they were supposed to perform because they didn't actually perform any services. He refuses to give it back, probably so he can try to charge me for services they did not perform. I have to threaten to call the cops and have them make him give it back before he finally gives me the document. He gives me the document back all crumbled, and I turn immediately to leave without saying another word. He THEN tries to intimidate me by walking up the back of heels all the way to the door almost tripping me on my way out.Again, I've never had a worse experience at a vet, doctor, or pretty much anywhere else in my life, especially for absolutely no reason when I am being respectful. I'm extremely disappointed in the horrible service at this location, and I will NEVER go back.
Jul 11, 2025 · Thomas KalmanJust like some others here I encountered dr Erica for the first time today. I've been coming to the 211 location for about a year with no issues. ERICA WAS VERY LOUD which triggered my PTSD immediately. I interjected a couple times and she said let me finish a couple of times in a very rude tone. It's possible that I'll have to see another vet as I can't put myself in that type of situation. Maybe they have another vet there that I can see. It's a shame bc she seemed knowledgeable but needs engagement training bad.
Jul 16, 2025 · kevin codyI’ve only been here once and it was to put our family dog down. My family took our dogs to this vet more times and haven’t had any complaints other than they kept confusing the girl and boy dog we have on their records, they kept calling our boy dog she throughout the visit. The people were nice and considerate but to be honest I don’t know who were the doctors vs Tech’s there. My immediate family is bigger so all 6 of us were able to be in the room. Everyone was considerate and gave us time with our pup before and after our pup completed his circle of life. The girl who administered the drugs explained everything well before doing the process. The only thing to be mindful of is it is a smaller place so I’m sure people in the waiting room/front desk could hear us crying.
May 16, 2025 · Kaylyn MProbably will never go back to that location again. Vet is very unfriendly. I was quoted wrong price twice, once when I booked the appt and again a few days prior to their appt. Was quoted the exact same price on the calls I had with clinic but when I checked out, price was $45.00 more. Monique and front staff were very nice.
