When it comes to a pet emergency, the most important factors are immediate availability and skilled medical staff. VCA All Pet Emergency Center excels in these areas, making it a valuable choice for Evansville pet owners. The 24/7 service model is a critical lifeline, as emergencies don’t always happen during regular business hours. This constant availability ensures that whether it's the middle of the night or a holiday, your pet has access to professional medical care.
While some might be concerned about the initial fees and payment policies, these are standard practices in emergency veterinary medicine to ensure the clinic can operate and maintain its readiness to help all animals in need. The payment policies are put in place to ensure a sustainable business model that allows for round-the-clock staffing and the maintenance of high-tech equipment. It is important to remember that emergency care is different from routine veterinary visits and often requires immediate and complex interventions. The focus on transparent payment expectations, like being informed of costs upfront, is a way to ensure clients are fully aware of the financial commitment involved with emergency services.
Despite some negative customer reviews, it is important to consider the context of an emergency clinic. Such facilities often face a high volume of critically ill animals, and prioritization is often based on the severity of the case, a triage process necessary to save lives. While it can be frustrating to wait, it is a sign that the staff is attending to the most critical patients first, a standard protocol in both human and animal emergency medicine. The professional response from the clinic in offering to discuss concerns shows a commitment to client service, even when faced with difficult situations.
Choosing VCA All Pet Emergency Center means choosing a team prepared for the worst-case scenarios with advanced equipment and a dedicated staff. They offer a reliable and essential service to the Evansville community, providing a place to go when your pet needs immediate medical attention. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update.After informing these people that my cat can't feed her starving kittens at home and looks like she has lost significant weight and is very lethargic. After they decided that a happy energetic dog with a bug bit on his butt was more severe then my panting cat that could hardly move and had been away from her starving kittens for hours already because of them. And after deciding that my cat would be better off seeing her vet in the morning. And after saving $200 , but of course the 2 hours I waited is still wasted, but not if this helps to save the life of another animal. After all of this, my cat had a fever if 105°. Deathly sick, too weak to lift her head. We have to bottle feed the babies. It is very clear, these people do not know how to properly diagnose your pet. Maybe they get it right from time to time, are you willing to take that risk with your pets life. I'm not!!Also they're response to my first post was to tell me I could call them to discuss. Yes, put the ball in my court, you did your part by offering to talk!?!? LolRisk it if you dare.First thing they let you know is it will cost two hundred dollars just to walk in that door. The next thing they let you know is payment is due at time of service. But what they don't let you know is they don't give a shit about your pets at all!! I waited almost two hours and they wanted to take two hundred dollars from me for me to sit there for 2 hours because only their time is valuable. I sat on a very uncomfortable bench. My poor cat is in severe pain and cannot nurse her kittens., but they told me that her pain didn't matter as a puppy that was jumping around and playing, so he got to go first even though I was there almost a half hour before that dog!!! If you love.Your animals and cherish them as members of your family as I do.Please do not take your pet to this heartless place. I'm in tears right now because my cat is still in severe pain.Because I would not let them touch her after their ways they treated us.
June 28 · Mindi ClarkMy dog was unresponsive the entire 45 minute drive to Evansville. When we went in she started moving around a bit. We don't know what she got into but when I explained what was going on, the receptionist said that there could be too many things that my dog got into. She wasn't kind or seemed worried. She just immediately told me it would be $200 to see her (which was fine) and $450 for blood work. She just seemed so annoyed that we were there and didn't offer any comfort. It was like she was telling us this insane amount of money for blood work so we would leave. My dog is still very sick and isn't walking and I have to hope she makes it to Monday so I can get her to a place that cares about her.
May 04 · Ashley DyerStaff was great had to take my cat in for an emergency and they was there every step of the way and worked with us to figure out cost to get her into surgery. Unfortunately some issues came up and she wasn’t strong enough to handle the surgery and in the middle of the night had to come back after they closed to say goodbye and let her go. The staff was amazing the whole time we never felt rushed saying goodbye and they was very caring the whole process. They truly care about the animals that come through their doors.
May 03 · Emmett HoggeOn the evening of July 3rd, our dog began showing signs of forming an anal abscess. Our vet was closed until Monday the 7th and we knew he needed antibiotics as soon as possible but we were leaving town. My mom offered to take him in on the 4th of July. The e-vet is a triage just like if you have gone to an emergency room for people and due to his non-emergent situation, they had to wait for a very long time. My mom hung in there like a champ and he was finally seen. He received excellent care and we are glad that the animals that had more emergent needs were sent first. We surely would have wanted that for ourselves if it was us who were facing an emergency. Thanks vets and vet techs for all you do for our pets! Our guy received pain meds and antibiotics and we followed up with our regular vet yesterday. He is doing very well now and we appreciate your care on this holiday weekend!
July 09 · Jasmine Folz4.21.25 - Sadly, we found ourselves back at VCA yesterday for our sweet Callie. She was a 17 year old sweetheart, but her kidneys finally gave out. We were lucky to have her as long as we did in our lives. I want to thank VCA and their employees for being there on not just a Sunday, but Easter Sunday. Again - a five star review. If I could give a 10 star review I would. The people working at VCA are truly the kindest and most compassionate people. A huge thank you for Kristine who took care of Callie's passage across the rainbow bridge. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten. Thank you for all you do VCA! You and your employees are appreciated.I cannot say enough good things about VCA Emergency Center and their staff. We had to make the gut wrenching decision to put our cat down this past Saturday. We called our normal vet and they couldn't accommodate us because there was no doctor on staff, so we opted to go to VCA. We came in on Saturday right at noon when they opened and called. The receptionist was so kind and patient listening to me while I was crying and distraught and trying to get words out of my mouth. The Dr. and the technician were so compassionate and caring. They came out to our car and took our kitty in to be prepped for the procedure and then we came into a small private room to see him. They explained everything that was going to happen as part of the procedure and were very patient and kind and asked if we wanted more time before and/or after our kitty passed. We were given a paw print which we didn't expect which meant the world to us as well. While this was a traumatic experience for us, their kindness and compassion for us and our orange fur baby was outstanding. We will miss our sweet orange boy forever. Thank you VCA - your staff and technicians are the best.
