★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Review of Highland Veterinary ClinicI normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my recent experience to help other pet owners make informed decisions.I brought my German Shepherd to Highland Veterinary Clinic for evaluation and treatment. Unfortunately, my experience with the new veterinarian was disappointing and concerning. My dog was misdiagnosed, and as a result, was prescribed medication that was not appropriate for his actual condition. This led to unnecessary distress and delayed the proper treatment my dog needed. After seeking a second opinion at another clinic, we received a correct diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan, which led to a noticeable improvement in my dog’s health.I understand that veterinarians can make mistakes, especially when getting to know a new patient. However, accuracy and attentiveness are critical when it comes to prescribing medication. I would encourage the clinic to ensure thorough evaluations and perhaps better oversight or mentorship for newer staff.I’ve had positive experiences at Highland Vet in the past, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively so that improvements can be made. Our pets deserve careful, informed care—and so do the people who love them.
August 06 · Ammy CroweBrought my cat here as a first time patient. Staff were incredibly kind. They have a polite bird that likes to ask how you’re doing. We were taken back quickly. They were very gentle with my cat and tried to make him as comfortable as possible. That were quick to find out what the issue was. I can’t speak for everyone’s speed as my cat only had a mild issue. We will be returning!
May 02 · Riley ConleyStandard of care here is far below standard. My friend's dog would have died a horrible death at home if she had not called me immediately for a second opinion. Her dog should have never left the facility in such a poor health condition after surgery. She should not have had to call me (a former vet tech). She should have been able to trust that her dog would receive loving care and she should have been informed properly. Clinics that are run like this are why I left vet medicine and why the general public views vet med professionals as money hungry. Please reevaluate your standard of care so beloved pets can make it home safe and healthy.
August 13 · Angela PicouOn April 9, 2025, we trusted Highland Veterinary Clinic with our dog Chief’s dental care — instead, we left with a critically ill pet.We never spoke to a vet, never gave informed consent, and their own records show hours of no documented monitoring. Minutes after pickup, Chief was in severe respiratory distress; yet when my wife rushed him back, he waited hours to be evaluated. He was later diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and spent days in an oxygen chamber at another facility.Pet owners deserve better than silence, neglect, and delayed care.
August 13 · Ryan RussellI trusted Highland Veterinary Clinic with my dog’s care — but I was never given the chance to speak with a veterinarian before his dental procedure. I did not receive informed consent for the procedure or for the risks that ultimately occurred. On April 9, 2025, my dog, Chief, underwent a dental procedure here. According to the clinic’s own records, there were hours post-procedure with no documented monitoring. When I picked him up, he was visibly in respiratory distress. I rushed him back within minutes — but he was not evaluated by Dr. Gormley for several more hours.Chief was later diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and required multiple days of critical monitoring and oxygen chamber support at another facility. While I have since received his medical records, it took multiple formal requests before they were provided in full. This review reflects my personal experience and is shared so other pet owners can make fully informed decisions before trusting any clinic with their animal’s care. See picture of my baby in his oxygen chamber at APEC.
