VCA Choptank Animal Hospital Reviews
I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! This is the only place within a hundred mile radius from me that treats birds and I'm so happy that I found them. Dr. McConkey is fantastic! She was so helpful in helping get my little Georgie to feeling better. She was very thorough and explained everything in great detail. Her vet assistants and the office staff are wonderful too! It's so reassuring to know there is an office like this around.
Apr 30, 2025 · Lauren MaloneI took in my timneh african grey and parakeet for routine care and Dr.McConkey was amazing! She was very thorough, confident handling a very cranky parrot, and explained everything to me in detail. My grey was alot calmer with her than he normally is when he gets an exam. Will continue to bring my babies here.
May 05, 2025 · Arianne PalmerOur family cannot praise this office or Dr McConkey enough! We happened to hear about this office when our dog needed an c-section immediately and they got her in and fixed up right away! It saved us at least four hours round trip to any other hospital. They eased all concerns, answered all questions and we even got updates throughout the entire process as well. We also got our other two dogs’ surgeries here as well because of how well our experience was! The hospitality is above other vets in the area you can tell they truly love all the animals! Definitely our favorite vet on the shore!!
May 14, 2025 · Abigail TuckerFor two years I drove 4 hour round trips to see the team at Choptank for my bearded dragon. It was worth every hour. Dr. McConkey and the VCA Choptank team provided extraordinary care for my bearded dragon, who was suffering from end-term reproductive coelomitis. Multiple other vets incorrectly diagnosed her with MBD which likely led to her health deteriorating. I wish I had brought her here sooner.Dr. McConkey went above and beyond, even consulting with experts in Australia, to ensure Drogon received the best possible treatment. Despite the severity of the condition, her dedication, compassion, and affordable care made a significant difference, easing my dragon's discomfort and health challenges.Though my bearded dragon has since passed, I am deeply grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown by Dr. McConkey and the staff (shout out to Jenn!). They truly prioritize the well-being of my pet, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking top-notch veterinary care for bearded dragons.Dr. McConkey if you’re reading this thank you so much for everything you did for us. I know you really cared about Drogon. You gave me two more years than I expected with her and when she passed in the hide Simone and I built for her I knew everything played out the way it was meant to, she went on her own terms and in the comfort of her home. I am forever grateful and will always recommend you, an exemplar in your field, to anyone seeking care for their bearded dragons.
Aug 27, 2024 · Alistair BellThis is by far the absolute best place to bring your animal/pet/family member. The staff is the most friendliest, hard working, and honest around. I drive 45 minutes to bring my dogs to see Dr. McConkey and if she was 2 hours away I would still see her. They genuinely treat your pet as their own. Their care and professionalism is easily seen and felt. No stone is unturned with this crew. Thank you for all you have done for all of us.
