One of the standout features of VCA Cordova Veterinary Dentistry Center is our specialization in veterinary dentistry. While this specialized focus can come with higher costs, many clients find the expertise and quality of care to be well worth the investment. For example, one client shared a positive experience, noting that the doctors were very happy to see that dental work was not critical for their recently adopted senior dog, advising them to simply watch the situation instead of performing an unnecessary $1700 procedure. This highlights the clinic's honesty and integrity, proving they won't recommend unnecessary work just to generate revenue. This kind of transparent and ethical practice builds immense trust with clients.
Another key highlight is our advanced diagnostic capabilities, including Cone-Beam Computed Tomography/CBCT. This technology allows for a detailed, three-dimensional view of a pet's oral cavity, which is crucial for accurately diagnosing hidden issues beneath the gum line. While some clients have expressed frustration with the initial consultation fee and communication, the positive experiences shared by others demonstrate the value of our specialized services and the integrity of our recommendations. Our focus on advanced care ensures that your pet receives the most accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan possible for their dental and oral health.

While the experience of some clients may be marked by a desire for more upfront pricing, the fact that the clinic has been praised for not performing unnecessary procedures speaks volumes. They prioritize your pet's well-being over financial gain, which is an invaluable quality in veterinary care. The story of a client who was told an expensive dental procedure was not critical and that their pet's health could simply be watched, saving them money, is a powerful testament to our honest and compassionate approach.
Our advanced diagnostic tools and specialized surgical expertise mean that for any serious dental issue, your pet is in the hands of professionals who have dedicated their practice to oral health. This is particularly important for complex cases, where a general vet may not have the specialized knowledge or equipment. By choosing a dental specialist, you are ensuring the most accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan. The value lies in our deep expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and a commitment to transparent and ethical care that is focused on what is truly best for your pet.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We have a retired 13 year old grand champion Scottish Terrier, family member, that just had her teeth deep cleaned at her normal vet, and she needs a filling for a small cavity. I am retired too. We can't get these people to be transparent about their prices. They want $238 to tell us what our options are. Options? We want the dog to get a filling for a small cavity. So I spoke with some other local vets about VCA Dental. They told me that the $238 is to get me in the door, where I will likely be told it is a whole bunch more $$$ needed for exams and tests before they can tell me if they want to do a filling and then after all that $$$ is spent, they will tell me the full price for the filling. I called several other Vet Dental Centers within a 2 hour drive. They told me more or less what the ball park price might be for the filling if they can do it, and they will credit their consultation fee against that if we decide to move forward. That is really all I needed to know from VCA but they won't tell you that for some reason. The other places also said that if the bloodwork and EKG that was just done when her teeth were cleaned at her local vet, are within 90 days, they can use those instead of charging us again. I hate to take business out of the area, especially 2 hours away but the "what I feel is a gotcha consult fee" and lack of transparency from VCA scares the heck out of me. The office manager wrote below that she was sorry I was unhappy, and maybe we could communicate about it, which I sent a message but no one called me, and worse, I called these people about 10 times today trying to see if we could discuss this, and got nothing but voicemail. Not happy at all with the attempt to contact them on the referral. I have let my vet know what happened.Does AI write the I am so sorry you are unhappy responses? Sure is worded like it. I did reach out to them and got no reply, and tried about 10 times calling them to only get their voicemail.Day 3 - although I responded, no one called to discuss it.
April 18 · Steve KentWe were overly happy with our experience. They were more than thorough. We had adopted our Luna girl and she was estimated to be 16.. The doctors here believed she was only 12 or 13..Plus they actually advised that dental work really wasn't critical and could be watched. A previous vet estimated $1700 of work.Very happy that they didn't take advantage of us
December 09 · Loreal SlofkoskyWonderful care and service. I brought my 16 year old chihuhua here for dental work. Because of his kidney issues he needed someone experienced in handling anesthesia and monitoring his kidney levels. Dr. Weaver did an amazing job and I felt so comfortable with her confidence in handling my old man's situation. He bounced back stronger and happier and it's all thanks to the team here. Oh and Cassandra is pretty amazing too if you're lucky enough to get her assigned to your pup!
February 03 · Valerie MahoodWe needed to find a dentist for our diabetic dog, and they were amazing with her. They were able to do a consult to discuss her teeth health, and how they would handle her teeth extractions, and they did her procedure on the same day.
December 31 · Carleigh CoxThe wait is quite long for the first consultation but don't let that deter you, they were actually the earliest appointment that I could get after calling about 10 differences places to get my dog in as soon as possible. The doctor was very thorough and understanding, the staffs were just lovely and so sweet. The actual wait for the extraction was a little less than 2 weeks. The care my doggy got was wonderful, he was not scared at all when we pick him up, all smiles and happy. Overall, it was a very nice and pleasant experience.
