★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We took our 17 year old cat in because of some concerning symptoms. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with compassion and respect. They took their time with our girl to thoroughly test her and even apologized for the wait which they definitely didn’t need to apologize for. The vet sat on the floor with me and my cat, and my skittish kitty who never approaches people went right to the doctor for loving. This tells me that even while they were putting in a catheter and giving her an ultrasound, they were super sweet with her and made her feel safe. We were informed kindly but honestly about her condition and we made the difficult decision to put our baby down. Every second we were there, the staff was compassionate and patient. They treated our sweet girl with dignity and love. It made a horrible night just a little more tolerable. Days later we received a handwritten sympathy card. I truly can’t speak more highly of this establishment. We are so grateful for the care we received, and though we had to say goodbye to our baby, the VCA made it so much easier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
August 30 · Haley MowryWe had to take our almost 13 year old dog Kendal to the Emergency Vet a week ago. We had no idea he was so sick that we had to make a decision to euthanize him that night. Everyone was so kind and compassionate to us and him. The folks there did not know us or him but we are so grateful. I only wish our own veterinarian practice(I will not name) had been so kind and loving to us and him. Thank you Emergency Vets
August 26 · Carol ChandlerWe had an unfortunate "popped her stitches" incident with our VERY LIVELY boxer on a Friday evening. Went to VCA in Kalamazoo and we couldn't be happier with the wonderful service. They were professional, friendly, caring and the doctors and staff did a fabulous job. We spend most time with Natosha and she couldn't have been better. So reassuring and patient with us.While waiting the staff continued to update us on our status which was very helpful. The facility was very clean and pleasant. They even had water/coffee/tea for those waiting.I hope it isn't necessary - but it is comforting to know they are around should anything happen in the future.Thought I'd share a photo our cute little nut Noodles. . . .
August 28 · Bonnie SOn Friday, July 25th, late afternoon, feeding time. My 12 year old cat Katie didn't come for her feeding. I first called her but she didn't come so I went to pick her up and she cried out. She would not get up or move at all. I knew something was wrong. I contacted our vet's office but they were overly booked with a waiting list and suggested I take Katie to the emergency. I had never been there but I jumped through several obstacles to get Katie there. Friday traffic, 45 minute drive. Upon our arrival, the front desk immediately took my information, handed me paperwork to complete. Before the paperwork was completed, they came for Katie (less than 10 minutes).Although we were there for approximately 5 hours, it was after all Friday afternoon and busy (to be expected). The veterinarians and the staff were all just super! They provided information on Katie's condition and explained everything clearly. What an awesome group!! 😊As I was checking out, the young man at the front desk offered me to take a coffee with me for the 45 minute drive home. From our arrival time to our departure, I would give this facility 10 Stars! We are forever grateful!
August 05 · Anna WeaverI brought my dog in after an hour and a half drive to this office with hopes of my dog being okay. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, but the kindness by all of the staff provided comfort and reassurance for my family. As soon as I ran in, cradling my dog, the receptionist acted fast after seeing the condition that my dog was in, she asked if she could take my dog and I handed her over right away. No questions asked, they didn’t even know my name yet. Me and my significant other were almost immediately brought back to a room. I remember sitting down and the vet tech told us that they are doing everything they can, that it was all hands on deck. Knowing that they all immediately jumped in provided me with peace and reassurance that we chose the right place to bring our dog. The doctor then came in and explained to us what was happening, he was gentle but thorough. My dog went into cardiac arrest and the staff immediately brought her in for us to say goodbye as she was passing. We were only at this office for about 35 minutes. They were quick, efficient, and most importantly, they were kind. I chose this office because of the phone call interaction that I had an hour before I brought my dog here. I had called a few other offices inquiring about payment options. And this was the only office that I interacted with that was kind, informative, and genuine. And although we lost our Mia Jane that day, we had peace and comfort knowing that we chose an office that took such good care of her. I will never have to hesitate about where to come in the future, because i will ALWAYS choose VCA Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center of Kalamazoo.
