★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m very pleased with the wonderful care my Cocker Spaniel Bowie received. Dr. Donnelly is one of the most caring and gentle vets I’ve met. He removed a cyst from Bowie’s eyelid and everything went extremely well. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive and obviously care greatly for their patients. I’m very impressed with everything about Veterinary Eye Institute! We could not have had a better experience! Thank you Dr. Donnelly and Mical for taking such good care of my boy!
March 29 · Carrie ParkerWe have been a client for a while now, and finally had to get surgery. He’s doing better, thank you Dr Soler! From the front desk ladies to the doctors, everyone is helpful, caring and attentive. Definitely recommend!
June 25 · Nicole HudsonDr. Soler & all of the staff at VEI Plano have been absolutely incredible over the past few months. After my girl was tentatively diagnosed with possible SARDs at an ER visit in November, we learned she actually had an optic neuritis flare up. Dr. Soler has been so kind and thorough throughout Finley’s entire treatment & I am overjoyed that we were able to find a plan that ultimately restored her vision. Finley (and her emotional support brother, Frank) enjoy their VEI visits. Not only are they greeted with kindness, but also generosity with an abundance of cookies and love!
February 27 · Raechel HoudekOur 18 month old lab developed cataracts very quickly. VEI calmed us down, took wonderful care of our treasured pet from evaluation one through surgery and recovery. Our sweet dog is doing excellent and the doctors and staff here have been amazing.
September 06 · Mary BrowderI took my Little Shih Tzu three days ago to have his eyes checked because of persistent symptoms after developing an ulcer. He was first seen by the certified ophthalmologist. The Doctor Who finished her training, presumably experienced and who I thought will be taking care of him, and then she left and another doctor in training came, had to poke his eyes again to examine him OK Doctors have to learn we all have to contribute. Then the certified ophthalmologist said he needs a surgical procedure to remove some debris from his ulcer to encourage it to heal. She explained it well, and I agreed without any argument, assuming she will be the one who completes the procedure. When my dog was returned, and I asked the nurse what red flags to look for when we get home she said look for bleeding because it did bleed a little. Of course this was shocking. Why would his cornea That has no blood vessels bleed? So I asked her who did the procedure and she said it was the resident who did the procedure. Now this was nothing short of shocking to me because it was deceptive at best. I went to a private practice paid full price for An experienced physician to take care of my dogs eye and I ended up with a physician with zero experience who probably did not do the procedure right given that three days out my dog is suffering. I have to give him painkillers every 12 hours he cannot open his eyes and I’m beside myself. What a shame. We all go to university hospitals and we deal with medical students and residence and fellows, but in this setting, we know what we’re getting and these physicians in training are very tightly supervised by attending physicians and they don’t take decisions independently. Most importantly, patient know exactly who is treating them. I feel the board of veterinary medicine needs to know about this. This is utterly deceptive.
