Wickford Veterinary Clinic Reviews
We are first-time pet parents of a bearded dragon. Finding a veterinarian for Steve was interesting because doctors who care for reptiles are limited and not easy to find in our little state. Fortunately, we came upon Wickford Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Saslaw, who is a member of the The Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, became Steve's doctor. At the clinic, everyone was welcoming and courteous, and Dr. Saslaw easily handled Steve and talked to him and with us throughout the visit. She answered all our questions which allowed us to be more confident that our care of Steve is good. It's also nice to know that Steve has a doctor whom we can call and visit for checkups and (Heaven forbid!) illnesses. This little bearded dragon is special to us, and having found Wickford Veterinary Clinic is an important part of caring for Steve.
Mar 26, 2025 · Gail CaffertyEveryone is great there and truly love your fur family. I take my dog once a year for her yearly check up and every 6 weeks to have her nails trimmed. Always right in and out.
Mar 13, 2025 · lori DeVonaOur bunny had eaten nothing but a handful of greens in two days. I find out now that it’s life threatening for rabbits to go more than 12 hours without food. She died the day after being seen here.It is an emergency when rabbits don’t eat. This vet did not convey this. They gave her meds and sent her home. We asked for written instructions for her care and she only wrote out instructions for meds. We had critical care food but no instructions of when, how much or how often to give it. Or even that we needed to force feed her with a syringe. We called the next morning and the receptionist asked the doctor and reported back saying “just keep following the protocol as written and call back tomorrow if no improvement”. I asked several times if it was ok that she hadn’t eaten at all since being seen. The receptionist repeated several times to continue to follow protocol and “hope she eats”It is unacceptable that this was not treated as the emergency that it was. We lost our bunny and no one tried to save her.I talked to a friend who fosters house bunnies and she said the same exact thing happened to her at Wickford vet. They told her to put a bowl of critical care food in front of the bunny and hope she eats it.In contrast, she brought a different bunny to Ocean State vet with the same issue and they kept her there, syringe feeding her every hour until she was out of stasis and eating and pooping regularly.
