Winnsboro Veterinary Medical Center Reviews
I've used this vet for a long time. I went to my neighbors house for dinner and her French bulldog started choking on a bone. My neighbor uses quitman animal clinic but they don't have after hour care so I call my vet, Winnsboro vet medical on hwy 11 becausethey do emergency care. I left my # for the vet to call me back and when he did, he asked me what was wrong with the dog, his breed, weight etc and as soon as he heard that she uses another vet, he proceeded to tell me that she needs to go to Tyler or longview even after telling him the dog likely would not make the trip. This vet is 5 miles down the road. Never in my life will I refer anyone here and my dogs won't see the inside of this office ever again.
August 16 · Alicia FieldsVery compassionate staff. I brought them my horse in an impossible situation where he had his intestines coming out of him due to another vet severely neglecting and mal practicing a simple gelding procedure. By the time I got my horse to Winsboro my horse was in an impossible to help situation and had to be euthanized. The level of compassion they had was very comforting after such a traumatic day and they acted immediately to take our horses pain away. While I wish the whole day could’ve been different, I was very grateful for the level of professionalism and kindness that came from this clinic.
August 06 · CorinnaDr. Howton was rude and refused to help my horse unless I hospitalized there. I was horribly disappointed. Then, he charged me $250 more that I was quoted for scoping for it being an emergency visit even though it was during normal office hours, and he was not busy. His staff was absolutely amazing, super sweet and friendly, and made us feel welcomed. I'm giving 2 stars for the techs
June 01 · Dana HaysI called to see if they could run a fecal on a sample of I brought it up there. Was kindly told they could over the phone so I went up there. When I walked in the door the blond at the front desk treated me like I was a total inconvenience and talked down to me. Then after looking under the microscope I was told the type of worm that was present, not the count, only the type. I was not familiar with the name so she spelled it out for me. She then asked if my goats were anemic and if so they usually don’t make it very long but she had nothing helpful to say. I was quite surprised at the negative comment and zero positive outlook. She acted as I may as well give up now. I’ve had a downed anemic goat 2 years ago and another sweet vet office in town helped me, the goat survived and is doing amazing. Unfortunately they were closed or else I’d have never gone here again. I stopped coming here years ago because of the rude and careless attitudes but I was desperate this morning.
May 16 · Carrie BellWay above average on Price. Staff need to take some happy pills - they clearly are not happy at work. Vet appears competant however i would not visit them again. Seemed like i was causing too much trouble by even being there.
