Ocean's Tropical Fish Reviews
I got guppies from Ocean’s Tropical Fish, and they were absolutely amazing! The fishes were healthy and vibrant, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many baby guppies I had. They thrived and lived a long time, which shows how well they were taken care of.When I had to move, the team was so kind and happily accepted all the baby guppies back. Their service is exceptional, and you can tell they really care about their fish and their customers. I’m so happy with both the quality of the fish and the overall experience. Highly recommend!
Jun 08, 2025 · Niru SriI asked the gal working if she had a specific type of tetra which she was not aware of and thought that it was a name of a chemical to put in the water. She seemed very uninterested and in a hurry to close out my question. There really were no customers in the store but I felt like the employees were rushing around and wanted to give short and incomplete answers. I have more questions but I didn't really like the attitude from the girl so the other employee once he was free I approached him. The gentleman that worked there did help me but was not able to give me any information on freshwater plants as he said he did not know. After bagging some plants for me I felt that he was in a rush to get it completed. The store has a lot of potential and looks like a nice balance between fresh and some Advanced saltwater setups. I've been into aquariums for 45 years. And I've been in a lot of specialty stores. This was my first to travel down to Mission viejo. Really no reason to return.*** The owner's reply... (see screenshot attached)Not really surprised bc the culture obviously starts with this owner. There was no negatively expressed during my visit, just my review of poor personnel service and now I'm not welcomed back... after I said no reason to return. 😆I read more of the reviews and see the trend coming from the owner. Customers are hard to come by these days... probably will catch up to them.Do your research, plenty of Great specialty aquarium fish store with better selection and certainly service. 👋 bye
Mar 24, 2025 · ErikWow, this place is such a badass store!!I love coming here! Ocean'sTropical Fish is hands-down the best tropical fish store around. Killer vibes, super knowledgeable staff, and they’re not just trying to sell you a fish for the sake of selling it. They actually care about what happens after you leave the store and want to make sure your tank stays healthy and balanced. You can tell they’re all about helping your setup thrive—not just making a quick sale.
Mar 29, 2025 · erika collardIt was a really nice store I went to buy fish and some other stuff, very patient staff and very knowledgeable and helpful, the place was very nice:)
Jan 30, 2025 · Sydney SwansonThis is an awesome fish store and I always go to when I’m in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful and they have a very clean store and their tanks are clean and well maintained. I noticed some negative reviews about staff rushing and fish dying but I have been there when it’s busy and they try to do their best to help everyone and as for sick fish or coral it’s understandable for new arrivals to be stressed and compromised just like at any other store and the staff lets you know how long ago they have arrived so you know what you’re getting in to if you insist on taking home a new fish that may be sick from the stress of being shipped from wherever they may be coming from so there will be some variability regardless of the store you go to but when you’re buying a fish and a staff members tells you they’ve had it for several days or weeks and they feed it so you can see them eat then you know you’re getting a healthy animal so if anything goes wrong once it’s in your care you know it wasn’t the stores fault. If I had anything negative to say it would be i wish they had some harder to find species like anthias but those are hard to keep fish and understandable for them to not want to stock up on sensitive fish that may easily die but you can ask the owner and he can order specific stuff for you.
