Old Dominion Animal Health Center Reviews
Capital Canine Club is a great daycare/boarding facility. They treat our dog really well and you can tell he’s well cared for. It’s so comfortable to board a dog somewhere that is also a vet in case of emergencies.
Jun 30, 2025 · Edward CooperI have had two dogs at this vet - (both poodles). It’s a full service operation so you get boarding, grooming, medical services. Expensive but the facility has all the goodies. If your dog is healthy, it’s a fantastic place. Both times, with each dog, when they started having medical issues, the doctors were NOT satisfactory in catching things……. I ended up leaving BOTH times with both dogs to go to another vet after poor diagnostics and overlooking patient requests - I always ended up at the Animal ER - recommend another vet with more safety certification. Check into this at the onset.
Jun 11, 2025 · Patricia McDermottWe had to put our sweet girl Moe to rest today after finding out just last yesterday that she had cancer. She went downhill very fast. We saw Dr. Butler for the diagnosis. She was excellent at explaining what she saw and coming up with an action plan. We then went in today and saw Dr. Scarborough who performed euthanasia. Both Dr. Scarborough and the women that helped her were very kind and comforting. We are very thankful to the whole team at Old Dominion Animal Health Center. My husband and I are owners of a dog boarding and daycare facility and have dealt with a lot of veterinarians. I would highly recommend Old Dominion to our clients, friends and family.
Feb 26, 2025 · kelly BrownFriendly staff, and they're good with my dogs, but WOW this place is expensive. Medications, requisite exams, and standard tech procedures are significantly higher than what you'll pay elsewhere. Then they have the gall to pass along credit card fees on the hundreds of dollars they collect with every visit. I have to wonder where all the money is going. Aging, discount furniture occupies a space that's like walking into a time warp back to the 90s (earlier?). They finally replaced the rickety benches in exam rooms with new(er), similarly mismatched chairs and benches. Switchplates are filthy, doors look like they've never been refinished, floor tiles are cracked, rickety lamps in waiting areas look disheveled, and sometimes it just reeks of wet dog. Seriously, where is all this money going, because it's certainly not being invested in front-of-house facilities.
Apr 03, 2025 · Richard GuntherAlways superb vets and staff. Amazing care. Facilities are high quality. Grooming is fantastic. Boarding is great. Indeed, the best all in vet services one can hope for. Most importantly they care about your pet (it’s not about the money).
