New Hope Animal Hospital provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services designed to address the diverse health needs of cats and dogs throughout all stages of their lives. Their goal is to be a "one-stop shop" for pet health, offering both preventive care and treatment for various conditions. Key services generally include:
Wellness Exams and Preventive Care: These are foundational services, including thorough annual check-ups, tailored vaccination plans (core and non-core vaccines like rabies, distemper, parvo), and robust parasite control programs for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. These regular visits are crucial for early detection of potential health issues and maintaining long-term health.
Treatments for Various Health Conditions: They diagnose and treat a wide array of common and complex health issues, such as allergies, gastrointestinal problems, eye injuries, and chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, and kidney failure. They aim to alleviate discomfort and prevent serious conditions from progressing.
Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are essential for overall pet health. This includes professional dental exams and cleanings (scaling and polishing), often under anesthesia, to prevent dental decay, rotten teeth, and potentially life-threatening dental infections. They also provide advice on at-home dental care.
Surgical Procedures: New Hope Animal Hospital offers both routine and emergency surgical services. This includes common procedures like spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted litters and reduce health risks, as well as surgeries for foreign body removal, mass removals, wound closures, and other necessary interventions.
Emergency Vet Services: While not a 24/7 emergency hospital, they are equipped to handle urgent veterinary emergencies during their operating hours, such as vehicular accidents, ingestion of toxic substances, and difficult pregnancies. Their team is trained to rapidly evaluate and treat pet health emergencies.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose health conditions, they utilize various diagnostic tools, including in-house laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and digital X-rays (radiography). This allows for quick and precise identification of underlying issues.
Senior Pet Care: Recognizing the unique needs of older pets, they offer specialized preventative and ongoing care for senior animals. This includes identifying and managing age-related ailments like arthritis, obesity, lethargy, and behavioral changes, ensuring comfort and a high quality of life in their golden years.
Microchipping: As a crucial identification service, microchipping helps ensure that lost pets can be safely reunited with their families. It's a quick, safe, and permanent form of identification.
Online Pharmacy: For convenience, they have partnered with Vets First Choice to offer an online pharmacy, allowing pet owners to easily order medications, prescription foods, and other products for home delivery.

New Hope Animal Hospital Reviews
Wonderful Animal Hospital and superb service for my new little puppy. Dr. Michelle Pineda was so kind and gentle with my baby. She’s a very tiny dog and only 1 pound and the doctor really knew what she was doing with small dogs. I would highly recommend them.
May 02, 2025 · Bambi BambinoWe are so happy we made the choice to bring our two little senior pups to New Hope! Best decision. Dr. Werfal is absolutely amazing and thorough. She walked us through all of our options to care for our girls and was very honest. Thanks for the great care!
Feb 01, 2025 · Leanne PotterWe’ve been to New Hope since my dog was a little puppy (over 3 yrs now). We have had great care and communication from the entire team including all the techs, staff and doctors (Dr.Beth, Dr. Soren and Dr. Bush). They’ve been very helpful in sending my dog to specialists if he needed that and responsive about all the questions about dog ownership and medical issues that he’s had. They also treat my dog with love and respect and this has helped in making sure he’s not terrified of the vet’s office and he likes the people there.
Aug 07, 2022 · Laavanya SankarWe’ve taken several family pets to this practice over the past 10+ years and this continues to be a very special place. My favorite part is that they don’t just love easy cute pets, they also love my hyper vigilant rescue mongrel who goes through an entire jar of peanut butter every visit (and gets about half of it on me, the floor, and anyone in the room). They also nurtured us through saying goodbye to our 14 year old German shepherd a few years ago in a way that was very respectful and showed they really care. They are very transparent with pricing, options for next steps, and we’ve never been made to feel guilty when we say no to something. We will keep coming here until they decide we are just too ridiculous and kick us out.
Jun 18, 2024 · sam wThe veterinarians are very informative and professional, but also friendly and patient. The same can be said for the technicians, who are always there with a treat and smile. The wait times are never terribly long, even for unannounced visits. My puppy was spayed recently, and they made sure we had everything we needed. They did a great, clean job with the sutures. Every other visit I've made, whether scheduled or a simple tech visit, has been equally pleasant. It's a bit further from our home in Carrboro than other offices, but it's definitely worth the extra time.
