Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) stands apart from traditional veterinary clinics and even many other emergency hospitals due to several unique features and highlights that redefine the emergency pet care experience:
- Open Floor Plan & Client Involvement: This is perhaps their most revolutionary feature. Instead of being relegated to a waiting room, pet parents are invited into the treatment area and can stay with their pet throughout the entire diagnostic and treatment process. This "open layout" fosters transparency, reduces pet anxiety (as pets are not separated from their owners), and provides incredible support, making a stressful event much less so.
- Immediate Veterinarian Access: Clients report that they literally walk from the front door into the treatment area, with pets being triaged and medical history taken within minutes. This direct and immediate access to veterinary attention upon arrival is a game-changer in emergency situations, avoiding long, anxious waits in a traditional lobby.
- Compassionate and Understanding Staff: Reviews consistently highlight the "absolutely amazing," "warm, friendly, and professional" nature of the VEG staff. They are praised for their genuine care, understanding, and ability to accommodate specific needs, such as managing reactive dogs. This compassionate approach extends to focusing on the pet's mental as well as physical well-being.
- Focus on Necessary Diagnostics and Treatment: Clients appreciate that their pets receive "only the exact amount of diagnostics and treatment required to fix her up." This suggests an efficient and cost-conscious approach, avoiding unnecessary procedures while ensuring comprehensive care.
- 24/7/365 Availability: Being open around the clock, every day of the year, provides invaluable peace of mind for pet owners, knowing that expert emergency care is always available, regardless of when an emergency strikes.
- Stress Reduction for Pets and Owners: The entire VEG model is built around making a scary situation less stressful. The open environment, immediate attention, and ability to stay with your pet all contribute to a calmer experience for both the animal and their human family.
- Transparent Communication: The staff clearly explains treatment options and involved costs, allowing pet parents to be fully informed and make confident decisions about their pet's care plan.

Veterinary Emergency Group Reviews
The entire staff at VEG are absolutely amazing!! My german shepherd is very reactive to dogs and wary of people and the VEG staff was understanding and accommodated our needs. You can tell the VEG staff really care about the dog’s mental and physical well-being and take into consideration all the possible treatment options. Dakota swallowed an ankle sock and we were able to avoid surgery, but even if he did need surgery I would 100% trust VEG with him. Thank you again to all the staff that made this stressful event less stressful!!😊
Jun 23, 2025 · Christina DeShayesThis place is on another level. I was there for the first time on Friday with my dog. The time I spent in the waiting room was literally the time it took me to walk through it from the front door into the treatment area. They were taking my dog's weight and getting her medical history within a minute of our walking in. Everyone I spoke with and who treated my dog was warm, friendly, and professional. I feel like she received only the exact amount of diagnostics and treatment required to fix her up. The open layout was a great environment for support, and I think my dog was less anxious than when we are shuffled off to tiny exam rooms. Even though it's farther than other urgent vet care facilities, I will be going here first from now on. I could not be more thankful to have found VEG and would give it 7 stars if I could. Also, the price was not ridiculously over the top, which, coming from this stingy old man, means a lot. I can't thank them enough.
Jun 30, 2025 · Adam SmithMy German Shepherd was foaming at the mouth on Saturday night and when I got to VEG they knew exactly what to do. They explained everything every step of the way. They were very open and honest about costs. And the facility is amazing to be able to sit near your pet and observe their care is very special and reduces stress. Every veterinarian and nurse and assistant was wonderful. they’re still taking care of DAX and keeping me apprised on a regular basis or take my phone calls with grace and understanding. Thank you!!
Mar 26, 2025 · Michelle MattsonI highly recommend this veterinary hospital. From the initial phone call to the check and, exam and follow up: everything was first rate. Dr. Jacob was fantastic. She checked out our little buddy, Deaglan (a super cute young cat we rescued in April) and assured us he was fine after a scare we had earlier in the night. The staff was thorough, compassionate and friendly but most importantly you could tell they really care about the animals in their care! If you are ever in need of emergency care for your pet, they would be in very good hands if you were to take them to this location. Both my wife and I have a little piece of knowing they are there in case any of our cats are in need.
Jul 03, 2025 · sean crimminsWhere do I even begin... i am absolutely GRATEFUL i found this place. After many vets ignoring my puppy's symptoms, this was the only place that was able to figure out what he had and treated him promptly. My puppy had an addisonian crisis (we just found out he has Addisons disease) and was on his death bed when I brought him. Dr. Storey is an AMAZING veterinarian and very personable doctor who really cares. I really wish we could have a vet like her near our area. We drove 35 mins out because all of our local vet ERs were giving us 6 hour wait times and our dog could've died while waiting but Dr. Storey was so helpful from the moment I called her to the moment my sweet puppy was discharged. Dr. Storey- if you're reading this THANK YOU!! Shout out to her wonderful team of techs and receptionist for being so kind to Marcelo! This place is worth the trip and they provide excellent care for your pet!!! Before (during crisis) and after (4 day post discharge) pics of our puppy.
