The Petco in Cary stands out for several key features and highlights that enhance the customer experience for North Carolina locals:
Exceptional Aquatics Department and Staff: A significant highlight, as evidenced by customer reviews, is the outstanding aquatics department. One customer enthusiastically praised an employee named Ryan: "I’m not one to normally write reviews, but you all should know how great of an employee you guys have with Ryan in Aquatics. I’ve been to this location many times and each time he’s there he goes above and beyond. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and answered my many questions without a bother. I ended up buying a whole new tank system, and he helped get all of my items to the front, made sure they rang up correctly, then helped me load everything in my car. I can tell he truly cares about his job and the fish and we all know that’s not usually the case when you visit these stores! I’ll drive past 3 pet stores to come to this location! Awesome job, Ryan!" This dedication and knowledge make it a prime spot for fish enthusiasts.
Comprehensive One-Stop Shop: With a wide array of products spanning different pet types, coupled with in-store services like grooming and vet clinics, Petco Cary provides a truly convenient one-stop shopping experience for almost all pet needs. This is a huge time-saver for busy North Carolina families.
Accessible Location with Ample Parking: Being situated in Crossroads Plaza on a major road ensures easy access for a large portion of the Triangle area. The availability of plenty of parking further adds to the convenience, making visits hassle-free.
Variety of Services for Pet Health & Wellness: Beyond just selling products, the inclusion of grooming and accessible vet services demonstrates Petco's commitment to the overall health and well-being of pets. This integrated approach allows pet owners to address multiple care needs in a single visit.
However, it's also important for potential customers to be aware of certain aspects. One review noted concerns regarding pricing: "Went here to buy toys for my dog that just turned 10. Noticed that the prices were really high. A Nerf ball with a fabric tail was $16. Went to the Lowes Home Improvement store down the road and found the same toy for only $10. Bought the toy with the cheaper prices of course." This suggests that while convenient, it might be beneficial for customers to compare prices, especially on non-specialty items, to ensure they are getting the best value.

May 08, 2025 · Melissa CraigWe arrived promptly 10 minutes early for our 4:55 vaccination appointment and sent a text to the number to let them know we had arrived. After a few minutes we didn't receive a response and walked into the store at 4:58. The gate was closed to the clinic and we were told we should have been earlier and that they would not uphold our puppy's appointment. I am unsure of what staff member we dealt with but she was incredibly rude towards us and said that "you should have just come inside". Our puppy is 8 weeks old and does not have vaccines, I have no reason to have an unvaccinated puppy around other dogs, that is a risk that apparently they were fine with us taking. I wish we would have just gotten a courtesy call to check in and see if we were there, could have avoided this whole mess.
Mar 02, 2025 · Victor DuncanThey do NOT care for their bettas at all. Alage is growing in their tubs, food and dirt is accumulating at the bottom of the tub, the fish are lopsided. Considering they need daily water change and water conditioner, and other stuff to stay healthy this is NOT healthy. I HAVE a betta and HAVE HAD other fish to know what healthy looks like. Only uneducated would defend this kind of abuse. I wonder what health inspectors would say to this. Do not buy your betta from here please.
Aug 06, 2024 · Ocean_ Lover4000I just picked up my dog from his date and I'm absolutely disappointed. They did a terrible job, badly cut all over the body, their face looks fatal and as if that were not enough I was handed it with its tail and legs still wet. It's amazing how bad they did it, I must come home to try to fix their bad job and you're definitely not going to pay me for thatI'm so sorry I took it with you. Terrible terrible oh my God!
