Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For residents of Nevada considering the significant step of acquiring a bird, Xtreme Mundial Birds in Las Vegas offers a local option specifically dedicated to avian species. Its suitability for Nevadans hinges on the availability of a physical location to view birds and a specialized inventory.
The primary aspect of suitability for locals is the store's focus on birds. This specialization means that individuals specifically seeking a bird, from smaller species to larger parrots, have a dedicated local outlet to visit. This can be beneficial for those who prefer to see an animal in person before making a purchase, allowing them to observe the bird's appearance and general demeanor, which is a common practice for responsible pet acquisition. The presence of a specialized inventory of bird foods and supplies also means that Nevadan bird owners can find products tailored to their avian companions' needs without having to rely solely on online retailers or less specialized pet stores.
However, it is critically important for local Nevadans to exercise extreme caution and diligence when considering a purchase from Xtreme Mundial Birds. Customer reviews provided indicate serious concerns regarding the health of the birds sold and the post-purchase responsibility of the owner. Instances of birds appearing unwell, exhibiting symptoms of illness (e.g., lethargy, low glucose, feather loss, and diagnosed Beak and Feather Disease), and subsequently passing away shortly after purchase are reported. Furthermore, customers have noted being advised that the store is not responsible for the bird's health once it leaves the premises and instances of overcharging. Beak and Feather Disease, as mentioned, is highly contagious and can be fatal, potentially affecting other birds.
Therefore, while Xtreme Mundial Birds is a local option for birds in Nevada, prospective customers are strongly advised to:
- Observe birds meticulously for any signs of illness (lethargy, unusual behavior, poor feather condition, nasal discharge, respiratory issues, broken beaks).
- Request and review all health records for the bird and its parents.
- Consider having any potential bird purchase independently examined by a reputable avian veterinarian immediately after purchase, ideally before leaving the store, or as soon as possible thereafter, despite any disclaimers from the store.
- Be aware of pricing and verify all charges before completing a transaction.
- Understand that the lifetime commitment of a bird extends beyond the purchase, and ensuring their health from the outset is paramount.
For Nevadans, the decision to purchase a pet is a serious one, and thorough due diligence is essential. While Xtreme Mundial Birds is physically present, the information available necessitates a highly cautious and informed approach to any potential acquisition.

Xtreme Mundial Birds Reviews
I purchased a blue and gold macaw for my son on 6/20/2020. We we're so happy to add an additional family member to our home. While we we're at the pet store, I asked the man if there might be something wrong with the baby bird because he was not as active and alert as the other macaw in the bin. The man replied no, its just a baby bird.My son and I (this was our first bird) took the baby bird and fed the baby bird as we were advised from the owner of the shop. Unfortunately, the baby bird passed away on 7/01. Before the baby passed I rushed him to a vet to help the baby bird (2 months old). Once we arrived the vet stated baby bird was too skinny and had such low glucose that it din't even read the results on glucose meter.I'm sincere and I do blame myself for purchasing a bird for $3.300 that I didn't know much about. When we brought the baby home we did everything that we were advised to do. Now that I do look back I can honestly say that I'm 95% certain that we got a baby bird that was ill. The worst part is not the money, even though it'll take me months to pay this off, but the principles that the baby bird was too mellow and now that I know a bit more, birds should be curious and perky. My son and I have a broken heart when baby passed at the vet, but why was the owner not upfront with us? He also advised me (several time) that once we leave the pet store, that whatever happens to the baby it's not his responsibility. I really feel that he was out for the money and nothing else. He seemed like a nice guy, but please learn from my mistake and make sure the bird you may purchases is good in health.
Jul 04, 2020 · Wladisla HandelmanBought 2 IRN's about 8 months ago. Everything seemed fine until I went to pay. They overcharged and told me there is no medical guarantee. I should have known something was up then. Sure enough they started loosing feathers. Long story short they had beak and feather disease. I woke up today with my sons bird dead. A bird of that has a life span of around 30 years. If you know anything about beak and feather you know its extremely contagious. I'm sure most if not all birds that were in the store around 8 months ago have it. Avoid this place at all cost
Feb 15, 2021 · Kelly SimpsonCalled to ask about some types of bird and they hung up on me and then when I called back they refused to take my call. I havent had a chance to shop and this store but this tells me that they are not a place I want to go to. Very rude, this is not good customer service for someone looking to shop at they store for a pet bird. If I could give them zeros starts I would.
Sep 10, 2023 · A SAbout 4 months ago I got my 9 week old Male Ecluctus,Buddy, there, I'll tell you what they made it such a great experience, while I was waiting for him to be old enough they would run home to get him when I would just stop by.so I could see him, and gave me step by step instructions to finish the wiening. I credit the fact that I have without a doubt the coolest bird in the world to the love and care that the Mrs. gives each and every baby! And thanks for the great service and help since then, very knowledgeable staff.
Apr 23, 2019 · Greg EdenI was told by my vet that they had seen some sick birds purchased at this place. Heard some sad stories and I personally experienced one myself and would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner speaks little English and ignored me while I was there playing on his phone the whole time. The birds in the back room stay in dirty cages, no toys and get no fruits or veggies. It’s all about money not love for the birds like some believe.
