Acequia Animal Hospital Reviews
My dog, Sam, and I had a great experience at Acequia Animal Hospital. I took Sam in for his very first appointment to meet the vet and to have an overall wellness check up. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the office and exam room. The professionalism and care that the staff exemplified was refreshing and appreciated. I am so pleased that I found this business in my community of Rio Rancho.
Jun 01, 2025 · Joy TaylorI have never been to such a greedy veterinarian. My first visit cost $800 It was for a well exam And my groomer thought that my dog had a ear infection, but he did notI was really shocked. Both my dogs have been suffering From allergies And I asked to give them allergy medicine and she required all my records from Texas. I got those to the office and then I scheduled my dogs for allergy shots - A couple days later, I got a phone call That one of my dogs needs a special exam to see if they have allergies Before they can have the medicine. It’s in their records ! I was just very disappointed and what I feel is greediness of this vet clinic And I’ll never go back again. When I tried to complain at the first visit that it cost $800 I did not feel that the Vet was sensitive to how much an extreme charge that was for one visitTo your response- I was told after Bill‘s exam that if I provided his medical records, he could have the shot -you break your word So there’s no point in me calling your office to check the rates
Jul 22, 2025 · Paula SussmanSaw Dr Stephanie for the first time. Very caring and compassionate with my furbaby who is always nervous at her vet visits. Vet Tech, Beth, is also a keeper along with the front office staff. Clean clinic and wonderful folks. Have been bringing my pets here for 12 years.
Feb 05, 2025 · Carol AdamsNew Vet for me and our dog Sophie. First visit report: waited a bit long for appointment, but that's OK, thought Sophie's annual visit was a bit superficial but we have another appointment for blood work and shots. Received a quote for teeth cleaning that I thought was a bit high. Good people, nice facilities, felt comfortable, Sophie liked it and the staff, felt the staff and Vet were engaged and capable.
Jun 04, 2025 · Mike McGovernI am leaving this review with a heavy heart. I recently relocated to albuquerque and researched many vets in the area, Acequia was one of the most highly rated. I brought my 7 year old English Bulldog to you to establish care and get some of his allergies under control. Our first visit we left with a diagnosis of him having severe dry eye and were sent home with some medication. The first visit should have been my first red flag, the Doctor he saw was very pushy and not compationate whatsoever. I chose to return for his follow up and that was the big mistake on my part. During the follow up appointment I stated that I felt like his eyes were not getting better but worse. She brushed me off without even checking his eyes and said these things take time and that I would have to wait until the end of the month for our next visit to check his eyes again. In my gut I knew I should have immediately sought a second opinion.. but I trusted her "professional opinion" and chose to continue as directed. Well as of yesterday my dogs eyes worsened and I rushed him to an emergency vet where I was told he had a corneal ulcer that was left untreated. The ulcer ruptured and he is now having enucleation surgery to remove his eye. Our family is left devastated, heartbroken and distraught. I WILL NEVER COME BACK AND ABSOLUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES REFER THIS PLACE.
