LOVE, AND I MEAN LOVE THIS PLACE AND THESE PEOPLE! You guys are amazing! We absolutely love Dr. Rowe and ALL of the staff. First time we came here was 2 years ago, we were homeless, living in a tent behind price chopper on 103rd. Our dutch Shepard, Maxx woke up with a very swollen eye, I was terrified, we had no money and I was at a complete loss as to what to do to help our boy. So we got on a bus, my husband said hey there's an animal hospital on Wornall, let's go see if they can suggest something, eye drops, anything. Maxx's entire right side of his face was over doubled in size. Crying, I said okay but they aren't going to help a couple of homeless folks that can't pay even a dime.....BOY was I wrong. You guys treated us with so much compassion, as if we were regular patients, Dr. Rowe saw us, examed him AND gave us antibiotics for his eye, at NO CHARGE. All I could do was cry and thank you. Sadly, six months later Maxx slipped out of his harness and was hit by car, he passed instantly.... I still miss him terribly. Fast forward to a year later, one year ago, we had gotten off the streets, had a 6 month old pit, had our own apartment, off of Linwood, to we got this 6 week old put bull puppy from the parents of our pit. Three weeks later, she got sick, I called countless vets, we went to several and nobody would help us, we were pretty sure it was parvo but we didn't know what to do. We prayed about it, once again, my husband said let's go back to Waldo, again we had no money...we borrowed a friends car. You guys are a Godsend. Once again, you saw our baby, tested her, and yes it was Parvo, the vet tech said shes pretty sick, but hope isn't lost, you gave us antibiotics and said most importantly keep her hydrated, you gave us syringes and said to get Pedialyte, and give her fluids every hour, she said she has a 50/50 chance, we said yes which equals a 100 because we're not losing her. We did say we would pay, just didn't know when, the bill was around $170, I didn't know how we would ever pay it, but we'd find a way. Well our baby made it! And we owe it to God and to you. Fast forward another year, yesterday. We've moved into a duplex in Independence, with a fenced back yard, well at 6a yesterday morning, our dogs got into a fight with a raccoon, raccoon lost the fight but I freaked because ours were behind on vaccines. Once again I started calling vets in the area, nobody could get us in until the end of the week. For a third time, my husband said call the people in Waldo.Once again, you guys were absolutely amazing, you were jammed packed with appointments yesterday, yet you said bring them in, we'll work them in. You didn't even mention we still had a past due amount, yet without hesitation, you said bring them in. So we did. Dr. Rowe is sure they will both be fine, they got their shots. This time we had our own ride and was able to pay our past due and current bill. Life is so crazy, without realizing it you guys have been a huge part of our journey from homelessness to "normalcy", and we just cannot thank you enough for your love of animals and mankind. You have truly been a blessing. And you're stuck with us lol even though we keep moving further away, we don't care how far we go, we'll always come back to you, you are our Vet. PERIOD. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTEM OF OUR HEARTS! GOD BLESS - Jack Linthicum
