---As a full-service animal hospital, Alamont Veterinary Clinic provides a variety of services to meet the medical needs of the community's pets. Their focus is on core veterinary services that are crucial for maintaining a pet's health. The clinic is known to provide comprehensive care for both dogs and cats. They also participate in local initiatives, such as spay/neuter programs, which highlights their commitment to animal welfare beyond their regular practice.

The clinic’s reputation for providing affordable care without compromising on quality is a testament to their dedication to the community. They are known to avoid unnecessary tests, as one customer noted, "No tests are done if not needed," which helps keep costs down for pet owners. This honest and transparent approach is a significant part of their service model.
---Alamont Veterinary Clinic stands out for several key features that are repeatedly highlighted by their satisfied customers. The most prominent of these is the staff's compassionate and professional demeanor. One review describes the team, including Dr. Drake and the assistants and receptionists, as "wonderful, professional, caring, and honest." This emphasis on genuine care helps to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners, especially during what can be stressful times. A perfect example is a nervous Dachshund who "calmed right down" when Dr. Drake spoke to her quietly, demonstrating the team's gentle approach to handling anxious animals.
Another major highlight is the clinic's commitment to affordability and community welfare. A customer review points out that they are "the most economical vet my friends and I have found" and that they "thrive, helping the community be able to afford to take care of your pets so no pets are out on the streets, dumped." This statement highlights a core mission of the clinic: to provide accessible care that contributes to the overall well-being of the local pet population. Other features worth noting include:
- Honest and Transparent Service: The clinic's policy of not conducting unnecessary tests helps build trust with clients and ensures that costs remain manageable.

In a world where pet care can be expensive, finding a team that is not only competent but also honest about costs is a significant relief. Their reputation for not performing unnecessary tests and their participation in local low-cost programs speak volumes about their dedication to the community's well-being.
While one review mentioned a negative experience with an emergency case, it's important to consider the overall context. And they listen to you!, there are other DOCTORS TOO! No tests are done if not needed. They are the most economical vet my friends and I have found. They thrive, helping the community be able to afford to take care of your pets so no pets are out on the streets, dumped..The office is clean and tidy!My Dachshund is a very nervous dog, and Dr. DRAKE just talked quietly, and she calmed right down. Me? I was a wreck!Do try him and his staff, it's a happy place!
May 09 · Debbie SuttonI have taken my Pets here for years and have never had an issue until today, my dog started vomiting and had bloody stools and my mom took her to alamont because just last month she had a check up and vaccines( there at Alamont ) and they turned her away. Not only did they tell her the doctor is at lunch ( which I get. I work for a doctor and everyone needs lunch) but went on to say they do not handle emergencies and the doctor is booked up for the day and we would have to go to Bay City. My dog is in Bay City now and being very well cared for and it is costing me 450 dollars which Alamont could have been paid for the same tests , I am sure and medications. It does not make smart business sense to me to say you do not take emergencies and go elsewhere. I wonder if that is really true ?? are they only doing vaccines and office visits? I have had rescue cats fixed there and several dogs over the years. I am giving three stars only because I have had such great service in the past but for my mom to be anxious with a sick dog and turned away and told to go somewhere else is just beyond me.
July 16 · Sheryl BakerDo not take your pet/ animals here!!! Read the other reviews!!! Never got a call about my cats urinalysis maybe today… … but dont worry he is at another vet that saved his life! The poor girls at the front desk get the earfuls and are far more compassionate than this place!!! I called and cried out this morning and left Amanda apologizing for an incompetent vet. When I left my cat I had a bad feeling about the Dr and couldnt sleep all night- I am not from here… when I woke I called and insisted to pick up my pet- they wanted to keep him but yet were not able to get urine during an entire afternoon and overnight- WOW something was really wrong I knew it so I fibbed and said I had a family emergency and immediately picked up my cat!I knew at the start but- I am no vet- as I waited I got to hear the tech staff and vet complaining about wanting the day to end and go home!!! Should’ve left then as the tech mentioned “she is a talker” just before the vet walked in.The male vet kept my cat over night and did NOTHING- my cat was just as sick and even worse - he had a total urinary tract blockage. The kept insisting on keeping him longer… but offered nothing more but to try and get urine- The vet did not offer a catheter or even to suggest a catheter; wondering what keeping him did or would do and why bloodwork also wasnt offered especially after he was there for same thing a month ago. I can see in other reviews I would have likely showed up to a deceased pet! Why didnt the vet also didnt offer a sono; which would have shown us the blockage. I suggested all of these things on arrival with the female tech she was so bothered by it and I guess went to the same school as the vet. lol same lack of interest but heavy on the arrogance. Your lack of doing anything but a Convenia injection with nothing more and assuming he may need surgery for cystitis but yet no US or sono was done is scary. It is arrogant and scary and looking at other reviews- I am glad I trusted myself and instincts. You lost a good client and need a dose of humble pie. These are our lives and loves- you need not play god just do your job and have compassion.Wharton Vet Clinic did everything and WHARTON VET CLINIC SAVED MY CAT
