★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Forever appreciative to Dr. Feinsod and his team. 5 years ago I stepped on my first ferret by accident and this vet was the ONLY vet in pa who cared and listened. The dr was the only vet confident in the surgery she required. And he fixed her up, her leg healed just like he said it would and her quality of life stayed the way it should have been.I live well over an hour and half from this vet, this is the only vet and doctor I will ever trust with my ferrets. No BS just honest, knowledgeable facts and advice. I find the price, very fair. Vets are expensive but with the actual amount of care you receive here, it’s worth every single penny. There is no doctor like Dr. Feinsod, thank you so much for your care and intellect.
August 26 · Kellie NottageOne of our Wyandotte hens, Gallina, developed a condition called bumblefoot. It is very painful, and consequently she didn’t want to use that foot. She had bumblefoot once before, and I was able to take care of it, but not this time. Finding a vet in the York or Lancaster County areas who treats chickens is very difficult, but eventually I found my way to Dr. Feinsod, whose practice is only a few miles from our home. He removed several hard kernels that form under the skin of the foot due to bumblefoot. Then, in order to keep it clean as it healed, he fashioned a little “sandal” for her out of neoprene and athletic tape, then prescribed an antibiotic and a painkiller. As soon as I saw the little “sandal”, I knew Dr. Feinsod is not your ordinary vet. He took great care of Gallina and was genuinely interested in her recovery. I am happy to say that after some time out from her buddies to recuperate, she is now using her foot and has rejoined the flock. I highly recommend Dr. Feinsod and Ani-Care Animal Hospital!
June 24 · Melodye DempwolfIve used this vet and practice for our exotic critters over many years. They are always competitively priced. Especially given they are an exotics vet. They actually charge the same appointment fee our "regular" dog/cat vet thats closer charges. We drive an hour one way to this vet for our exotic animals because the care is just amazing at this practice. If they were closer we would used them for all our critters if im honest. Our dog doesn't do well in the car so an hour isnt an option sadly or wed use them for all our pets. If you have certian critters that tend to be more sensitive like reptiles, herps, small animals, birds ect you know how having a good knowledgeable practice to care for your pets can mean life or death even for something seemingly minor. Some exotics/animals go downhill fast and this practice is who we trust in those situations. The staff is kind friendly and trustworthy. The vet himself is a wealth of hands on practical knowledge in so many areas its actually really awesome to nerd out on things like lighting or some random study during an appointment. Not every vets office can provide factual information in an easy to understand way while showing you the reference materials if you are so inclined to ask for your own learning to read later as I so often find myself doing after visits. He has no isuses pulling items up during the visit online to referance and show you what he recommends or research article. Its actually pretty awesome. This way when I go online to buy something hes suggested hes already shown me during the visit on the computer so I know exactly what im looking for online once I get home. As owners/keepers this helps give us the best up-to-date scientific evidence to make sure we care for our pets to the best of our ability in a captive setting. I always learn something when we see the Dr. because he is so knowledgeable. The Dr. clearly cares and hes so good at explaining things that my 12 and 9 year old were able to understand everything explained at our most recent visit for our pet rat. He got them so excited they went home and started researching ideas for us to make changes to our critters environment so they can live the longest healthiest lives possible. Overall, I could go on forever about how awesome this practice is but I think their care and hands on knowlege speaks for itself. If you are apart of their practice as a client you can be assured your pets will receive the best evidence based care possible. I do hope they read this knowing what a huge impact they make, as a small practice, on us as owners/keepers. That they guide us as pet parents to keep bettering ourselves and the level of care we provide for our critters. I also want them to all know how much they mean to us exotic keepers/pet parents. Knowing we have someone to trust for everything from routine wellness visits to serious health issues means more then words can express. Thank you for all you do.
August 21 · samantha frockI have been seeing this vet for about four years now, after trying two different exotic vets. When I first brought Michael, my iguana, to the clinic, he was a very sick and malnourished rescue, as seen in the first image. He was losing teeth and had a misaligned jaw amoung other issues. Naturally, I wanted his mouth checked, but the first vet I visited used a metal rod to force his mouth open, which caused even more bleeding. Needless to say, I didn’t return to that vet.I finally ended up here, and I have been incredibly pleased with the care Dr. Feinsod has provided for Michael. Unlike the first vet, he avoided using a metal rod to pry open Michael’s jaws when he was in such a fragile state. You can see from the other images how far Michael has come in four years!Dr. Feinsod has also gone above and beyond for my axolotl, Mango, who suffers from dwarfism. At my request, he x-rayed her and even created a custom diet plan to keep her as slim as possible, minimizing unnecessary pressure on her organs.
November 18 · alex richterDr.was very knowledgeable and explained our ferrets condition and treatment options thoroughly. After care instructions were clear and concise. The facility was very clean and all the personnel that we had contact with were very nice and caring. Although this office is 40 minutes away, we will happily travel here for future care.
