Animal Hospital-Newton Conover Reviews
By far my favorite vet I have ever been to. Took EXCELLENT care of my Glitch. Every one of the staff are polite and friendly. Made fast friends with a cat who tolerated few people. I'm lucky enough to be one of them and now, so are the staff at Animal hospital newton conover.
May 05, 2025 · Gail DildineMy sister and I both have a dog of our own, and our babies have been to this vet since they were both adopted as puppies. I have had life changes that moved me to Chapel Hill and Charlotte, and I had tried to find a new home vet that was more convenient location-wise. I constantly found myself still traveling back to Newton for a second opinion on various health issues that I didn't exactly feel comfortable with the treatment plans presented, and I was always amazed at the level of care, compassion, and thoroughness that Dr. Sechrist and the team have shown Theo and I. My sister and I live in Charlotte now, and we both still make the drive to continue making this our home vet.I absolutely trust Dr. Sechrist in her care, knowledge, expertise, and treatment recommendations. She knows when to recommend something that would be the most beneficial for Theo's health and wellbeing and when to reel me back in from my over-protectiveness and mind-racing, dramatic spirals when health concerns come up. I will ALWAYS remember one time in Chapel Hill when x-rays and further tests were suggested to me for a limp that wouldn't quite go away, and I made the last minute decision to drive back to see Dr. Sechrist for a second opinion. She took the time to listen, asked questions to better understand and assess the situation, got down on the floor, inspected Theo's paws, and realized that the root cause was environmental allergens that were causing him to lick his paws raw to the point that he was limping because of it. Cytopoint injections resolved it immediately, and we have stuck with it ever since. When I was trying to establish care in Charlotte and explained this to a new vet so that we could continue the Cytopoint there, they were surprised it helped with the paws and limp. Allergies - who would have thought! Well, Dr. Sechrist of course! She has always taken the time to listen, thoroughly assess, and tackle the root cause with a more conservative, rational, and holistic approach, and I am so grateful for that because I will spiral and I will willingly sign away to make sure Theo is happy and healthy, so I appreciate that she understands this and always provides gentle, compassionate care and reassurance. If that does not speak volumes to the heart that she genuinely has for our babies (and us as parents), then oh man I don't know what does. I cannot sing enough praises for this amazing team. We love them and are so lucky to have them.
