★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Over the past 13 years, I have used several veterinarians, in Carteret County. I have to say that none compare to Arendell Animal Hospital. This is the most professional cleanest and caring environment that I have been to Dr. Hawkes and his team are fantastic and I trust him fully. Dr. Hawks cares for his patients and their familes. You can tell at the time that you meet him that he has a true passion for healing animals and families. I can’t say enough good things about this Practice, Dr. Hawkes thank you.
May 13 · Billy BrummettDr Hawkes saved my dogs life last year. My 13 year old Boston Terrier was battling a bad case of pancreatitis, she had already been seen by her regular vet of 12 years (at that time) and had a weekend trip to the Pet ER as well with no improvement and steady decline prior to me bringing her in to see Dr. Hawkes. I am certain that if we hadn’t of taken Foxy to Arendell Animal Hospital when we did that she would no longer be with us. The staff was super caring and friendly. They made room for Foxy in their schedule for treatment right away. She was hospitalized and the level of care she received was top notch. Dr. Hawkes is super professional and very knowledgeable. We decided to keep Foxy with Arendell Animal Hospital for all of her future care and we have been nothing short of happy with the care she continues to receive there. I highly recommend anyone in need of veterinary services to seek care at Arendell Animal Hospital.
March 30 · Sarah VetranoAt the beginning of this week, I took a rescued kitten to Arendell Animal hospital and felt that their examination was not thorough. They didn't answer many of my questions, so I decided to take the second kitten I found to Pet Docks. The difference was remarkable—Pet Docks went above and beyond, even checking for ringworm, which Arrendell never mentioned. They also discussed the possibility of the upper respiratory infection being caused by the herpes virus, which Arendell overlooked. I had to ask basic questions at Arendell, like the kitten's age and what to do about its ears and nose, missing hair spots, and the vet told me the amoxicillin medicine would clear everything up. I decided to take the kitten that was seen at Arendell to Pet Docks and HE WAS COVERED IN RINGWORM AND I LITERALLY ASKED THE ARENDELL VET WHY HE WAS MISSING SPOTS OF HAIR ON HIS HEAD AND EARS AND HE TOLD ME THE AMOXICILLIN WOULD CLEAR IT ALL INCLUDING HIS EYE INFECTION WELL GUESS WHAT HE WAS COVERED IN RINGWORM AND NOW THIS HAS PUT ME AND MY BOYFRIEND IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH RINGWORM BC THE ARENDELL VET FAILED US AS WELL AS SURFACES THAT MY OTHER CATS TOUCHED. HE ALSO HAD A SEVERE EYE INFECTION THAT NEEDED TYRAMYCIN (ointment I was putting on his eye and the same medicine ARENDELL TOLD ME TO TAKE HIM OFF OF this led to me coming home to my kittens eyeball bleeding I will attach a photo bc he needed those meds. I called and spoke with a receptionist at arendell and asked to speak with the vet & she told me he would give me a call back. He never called me back, like why are you even a vet if you can’t do your job correctly??? After posting about it I have 5 plus people message me and they ALL SAID NEVER TAKE YOUR PET TO ARENDELL & THAT THEY ARE THE WORST. Overall, I would rate my experience at Arendell a 0/10.They did have a very nice receptionist named Maddie too bad she works for a vet that shouldn’t be caring for animals if he can’t spot RINGWORM on a rescue kitten like how sad.
August 03 · Ally GillikinI’ve been taking my furry babies to Dr. Hawkes for over 20 years. He & staff clearly care deeply for my pups. Dr. Hawkes is easy to communicate with, explains everything and genuinely wants the best for my pups as I do. I drive close to an hour so my babies have the best possible care available. Thank you Arendell Animal Hospital for caring so much!
May 18 · Stacy WilsonFender is an anxious angel and he is always treated like he’s perfectly normal. Maddie took great care of ME while I worried about him. I trust Dr Hawkes implicitly and know he’s making the best diagnoses of issues and offering expert advice in all situations.
