What makes Havelock Animal Hospital a choice to consider is its extensive range of services and its capacity to handle both large and small animals. The provided customer reviews, however, present a mixed picture that is important for a prospective client to understand. One client’s experience highlights the immense compassion and professionalism of the staff during a painful and emotional time, noting that the hospital was the "ONLY vet that would help me" after their pet was hit by a car. This positive testimonial speaks volumes about the team’s empathy and willingness to provide critical care when it is most needed. This is a powerful sign of a caring and dedicated staff.
On the other hand, another review raises serious concerns about pricing and communication. The client describes a frustrating experience with "deceptive pricing" and a "complete lack of transparency," feeling misled into unnecessary services and charges. This review is a critical piece of information for potential clients, as it underscores the importance of clear communication and upfront estimates. While the hospital offers a wide array of services and a level of compassion during emergencies, it is advisable for pet owners to ask for and carefully review a full, itemized estimate before any services are performed to ensure a transparent and stress-free financial experience. A potential client can weigh these two experiences, balancing the high-level care and compassion described in one review with the communication issues detailed in the other.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I couldn’t be more appreciative. They were the ONLY vet that would help me. My Billie Earl was hit by a car and they helped take his pain away. They were extremely empathetic, professional and treated me like family. Thank you again.
March 03 · Kailey DubelExtremely disappointed — deceptive pricing, poor communication, and a complete lack of transparencyI will not be returning to this clinic after the frustrating experience I just had. I originally called months in advance to schedule heartworm shots for my dogs and specifically requested an estimate. The estimate I was provided was less than HALF of what I was ultimately charged. When I brought my dogs in, I made it abundantly clear to the tech that I only wanted the absolute required services because I’m a college student and finances are tight. She told me certain tests would cost "around two dollars" — only to find out later that one of those tests was actually over $32.At no point did anyone present me with a full updated estimate or review the costs before performing the services. The only time I was shown prices was after everything was already done, when it was far too late to decline anything. To make matters worse, both of my dogs had already recently been seen for exams (one within the year, one just months ago for a skin issue) — yet I was still charged for full annual wellness exams that felt entirely unnecessary. The staff insisted this was legally required, but failed to explain the difference between wellness and sick appointments until after the fact, and only after I asked multiple times.Every step of the way felt like I was being upsold or misled, whether intentionally or due to poor training. Instead of being upfront and helpful, they left me feeling like I had been tricked into unnecessary charges. If I had been told accurate pricing up front, I would have made very different decisions. For a business that claims to care about the wellbeing of pets and their owners, this experience was incredibly disheartening and financially stressful. I expected compassion, not nickel-and-diming.Save yourself the headache — find a vet who will actually respect your time, money, and consent.
June 13 · Paige BellHorrible Vet, Do Not Reccomend. Both older dogs were scheduled for surgery to have all their teeth to be removed, Dr Trusky completed surgery for one of our babies but did not complete the other. When asked why she didnt complete the surgery, she advised she had other appointments that day. After which I was given an estimate of $1200+ for the additional surgery needed to remove the remaining teeth, after just paying $2200 for a procedure they didnt complete. I made it very clear prior to scheduling them for these procedures that I didnt want both my 16 year old dogs going under anesthesia again after these procedures, and was very adamant about having all teeth extracted for their health and to avoid another procedure with anesthesia. We brought this to the attention of both veterinarians, Dr. Trusky and Dr. Kucera but neither seemed to understand how unprofessional this was. I would never expect to go in for any procedure and have the doctor tell me they had to cut it short due to other appointments and reschedule... will never go back or recommend.
July 29 · Stephanie MinerOur sweet boy developed a rapid growing tumor. They got us in quickly, fixed him all up, and quoted a reasonable price for the procedures he needed. It was obvious he was in the best of hands and that put our minds at ease. We are so grateful to have him back to his old self!
March 16 · Rebecca EasterI can’t thank the team at Havelock Animal Hospital enough for the compassion and care they showed us during a very difficult time. My daughter’s ferret was experiencing seizures, and they got us in right away. Unfortunately he had to be put down 😭 Kim was AMAZING! She made an incredibly hard situation a little easier with her warmth and support and even made a paw print for my daughter. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a place that truly cares about their patients and their families!
