- We brought my son's dog Chocolate in to have surgery for his teeth scaling. The staff went above and beyond to help him have the best experience. Sandy at the front desk was amazing how she welcomed us and took care of his appointment and his needs. His nurse Olivia was so sweet and caring and very compassionate. When we picked Chocolate up at the end of the afternoon, Robert at the front desk took the time to answer all our questions. Robert also did the follow-up call checking on Chocolate's well-being the next day. Our dog has anxiety issues with other dogs, and everyone made a special effort to make sure no other dogs were on the floor going in and out for his procedure. Dr. Ellis, our veterinarian, is the absolute best. She is so caring and answers all your questions. If you are looking for the best place to take your pet for care, Merriam Banefield Hospital is the place for them. Look no further and give them a call today. 🐕🐈⬛ August 22 · Joanne Rineman
- This place was awful. DO NOT GO HERE! My pet and I will not be returning. Came in for a first free visit as my cat was sick. Explained my financial situation to the nurse and Dr but expressed concern for my furry friend. The ENTIRE time I'm asking questions they are both doing nothing but pushing the care credit card and they're stupid wellness plan. There was more talk about that then my cat. After I caved and got the care credit card to let them run some tests on him everything came back fine they continued to find other ways to squeeze money out of me that would potentially add up to a couple thousand of dollars if I did not purchase a wellness plan. I felt extremely pressured. It was like being at a car dealership. All I wanted to do was make sure my cat was okay and once I knew he was it was like it wasn't good enough they just wanted more money and a wellness plan. Then when it was time to leave I asked for my paperwork and in this "packet" they handed me all it says basically is his weight. His tests results are not there, his exam (if they even did it) says completed yet no info regarding the exam. So I have no documentation on what they were even doing for the hour and half we were there. Ended up paying $260 for a blood test with no documentation to show for it after being continously pressured into either a credit card or a wellness plan. NOT a way to run a place that's for PETS not about making money. Absolutely ridiculous 🙄 May 06 · Kelsey Woodward
- Absolutely unacceptable level of care.I rescued my cat in December after finding him outside a friend’s home. As a new cat owner with limited knowledge about his health history, I immediately brought him to Banfield in Merriam for a wellness check. They had the earliest availability, so I trusted them to guide me through the process of understanding my cat's needs.During that first appointment, I was told he was a little over a year old, with healthy teeth and an otherwise clean bill of health. Most of the visit, however, was spent aggressively pushing their monthly membership plan rather than thoroughly examining my cat or addressing my concerns as a first-time pet parent.Fast forward just four months—my cat developed an ear infection, and I took him to a different (and far more attentive) vet closer to home. What I learned there was both shocking and heartbreaking. My cat is not “a little over a year old.” He is actually between 3 to 5 years old. He’s missing multiple incisors, which I hadn’t noticed due to my inexperience, and has early gum disease and recession. But most devastating of all—he has been suffering from chronic back pain, likely caused by a past injury or arthritis. The new vet caught it immediately during a standard physical exam. This issue should have been flagged months ago at Banfield. Instead, it was completely overlooked. The thought that my cat—who I’ve worked so hard to care for—has been living in constant, untreated pain because of the Banfield vet’s negligence is beyond upsetting. It feels like a complete betrayal of trust. This was not just an oversight; it was a failure to do the most basic job of a veterinarian: to assess an animal’s well-being with competence and compassion. They were too distracted by sales pitches to do a proper exam, and my cat paid the price. I will never return to this clinic and will actively discourage anyone I know from taking their pets here. What happened to my cat was preventable, and the fact that it wasn’t caught sooner will stay with me for a long time.Banfield should be ashamed. April 09 · Sonya Ahmad
- AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS! If I could give no stars I would. If you go here be sure to get all the details of a contract. They will not give you all the details. I canceled my membership due to the attitude of the people who work here except maybe 1 person, but apparently wasnt canceled. It's a sales company for treatments disguised as a veterinary. Then I get a call from a creditor saying I owe them. I was not notified I owed anything and it said that it showed I didn't cancel.. I had auto pay set up for this account, so if I didn't cancel why would the payments stop? AVOID THIS PLACE OF A SCAM IF YOU CAN. I've heard stories of this particular location and didn't believe it until I experienced it. They put pets under If they think it's a dangerous animal. . When in fact it's just a vocal cat that loves people. This was a story from a friend of mine, and then they charge outrageous amounts for giving anesthesia when it wasn't necessary. AVOID THIS THIS LOCATION May 06 · Erik
