However, while some clients have praised the staff for their friendliness and quick service, it is important for prospective pet owners to be aware of the full range of experiences. A number of pet owners have expressed concerns about the level of detail and communication, particularly regarding wellness plan benefits and diagnostic procedures. For example, some have reported feeling that critical information, such as the necessity of specific tests like fecal exams for parasites, was not adequately communicated, leading to potential health risks for their pets. This highlights the importance of open communication and asking detailed questions about your pet's care plan, including what is covered and what is not, to ensure all needs are met.
Additionally, some clients have mentioned issues with staff getting key details about their pets and their health history correct, which can lead to confusion and frustration. This underscores the need for pet owners to be proactive in their pet's care, confirming details and ensuring all concerns are thoroughly addressed during each visit.

Jul 25, 2025 · Ashley WolfWe got one of their kitten plans hoping they would help us with get a stay cat we we're trying to adopt squared away. One of the biggest mistakes we ever made because we thought they would figure out what she needed before we could introduce her to our house cat. We didn't realize, but they didn't do the parasite fecal test on any of the previous visits we had. However, after just the first visit the doctor said she didn't see any reason why we couldn't introduce her to our house cat. We also asked when we could get her spayed and they mentioned after she gets her boosters. When we got that taken care of, the day of her spaying appointment they told they couldn't do the procedure because she was pregnant, but that she was perfectly fine. Fast forward a few weeks, we found some rice/sesame seed like grains on our cats bed. Turned out she had a tapeworm and had they done the fecal test months ago we wouldn't have infected our other house cat. They tried to rectify their mistakes by having us take our stray cat's poo and our house cat so they can check her for tapeworms. Upon that visit, they checked our house cat for various other things except for the tapeworm and said she was healthy and good to go home. We took her come and surprise! a worm fell out of our cats butt. They kept trying to shift the blame and say it was our fault because we initially denied our stray cat from getting flea preventative but on neither of the visits did they educate us on any risks. They made it our choice to get it. Additionally, they mentioned that we never took a vile to collect her poop so they could check, but again they never mentioned it to us. The manager and nurses kept trying to make excuses for their mistakes and redirected the blame on us by saying that our stray cat didn't have fleas on the first few visits, but they also mentioned that they never checked for them. They couldn't even get their facts straight on which cat they were talking about and we only have 2. The manager mentioned that there was many things she didn't know about until she started working there, but yet she blamed us and supported her staff for our cats having fleas and worms like we're supposed to know everything about cats. This has been a complicate waste of time, money, and effort because not the manager, nurses, or doctors seem to really care about the strain they put us and our cats.We will be cancelling our plan going to a pet hospital where they actually care and know what they're doing.
May 15, 2025 · Karen FloresThe doctors and nurses here at Banfield were very careful with the care of Teddy P. They even cut his prescriptions into parts up for me so I wouldn’t have to. Thank you all for your concern and excellent care for my fur baby. We appreciate all that you do here!
Jun 18, 2025 · LaKeisha WilsonI recently rescued a dachshund wirehaired puppy from wandering around in a pasture in East Texas. I already have one dachshund(miniature, short-haired), and they mixed well, so it made sense to take him home with me. When I was in East Texas, I took him to a local vet who was rude, and gave him the bare minimum in care, and made me feel like a jerk for not having found his owner after he hadn’t been claimed for a week (was posted online, and every page searched for his potential owner to no avail - he was also checked TWICE all over his little body for a microchip and nothing found). This Banfield location was able to continue his care by giving him a vaccine for Lyme disease, a medical bath for his numerous wounds that had left behind dried blood matted into his fur. They also removed those clumps and thoroughly cleaned his wounds. He was given pain medication, a continuing health plan, as well as an age range. When I brought him home he wasn’t eating/drinking or urinating, the vet called me as soon as possible to help strategize how I could entice him to eat and drink (real food with bone broth water), and it was the perfect fix! This is my first time taking in a rescue, and the folks at this location have been so kind and reassuring as to how I’m proceeding with Ricky’s care. I understand that Bandfield is a large company, and the level of care may vary by location, but I’ve had such a great experience at this location with both of my babies. I’ve experienced anxiety in the past with drop-off appointments, and they never mind explaining the exact plans they have step-by-step for the purpose of both anxious animals as well as anxious owners. Really appreciative for the consistently positive experiences! Please enjoy the happy and healthy photo of Ricky boy :)
