Banfield Pet Hospital is notable for several key features and highlights that set it apart for many pet owners in the Flower Mound area. The clinic's most prominent feature is its focus on affordable and accessible preventative care through its Optimum Wellness Plans®. These plans are marketed as a way to make high-quality care more manageable for pet owners, providing a package of services for a monthly fee. Many pet owners appreciate the ease of managing their pet's health with these structured plans. A client review highlights the excellent care provided by the staff and doctors, who were described as "incredible" and did an "amazing job" with a puppy undergoing a spay and growth removal. This positive feedback speaks to the staff's professionalism and skill in surgical procedures. However, the business model, particularly the wellness plans, has also been a point of contention for some customers. A highly critical review shared a frustrating experience involving a canceled subscription due to a fraudulent charge, leading to a large debt sent to collections without a clear path to reinstatement. This situation, where a customer felt locked into an "unethical and misleading" contract, highlights a significant aspect of Banfield's business model that potential clients should be aware of. While many find the wellness plans beneficial, it is crucial to understand the terms and conditions. On the positive side, the clinic’s location inside PetSmart is a major convenience, allowing pet owners to handle multiple errands during a single trip. The availability of diverse services from diagnostics to medical grooming also makes it a one-stop-shop for many pet health needs. The overall experience at Banfield can vary, but the professionalism of the clinical staff and the convenience of its location are consistent highlights for many.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I do not recommend Banfield Pet Hospital at all. My husband signed up with them back in June. Later, he had to change one of his cards because his identity was stolen and fraudulent charges were made. Just last week, when we tried to schedule our dog’s vaccines, Banfield told us that our subscription had been canceled and that we owed the rest of the annual contract—over $800—which had already been sent to collections. What makes it worse is that even if we paid the balance, they said they would not reinstate the plan. Instead, we would have to start a brand-new contract from zero. We asked to cancel the service, because when we first enrolled we were told that we could cancel at any time. But Banfield said that once it was sent to collections, we were still fully responsible for the amount, regardless. This feels unethical and misleading. They market their wellness plans as something flexible, but in reality they lock you into an annual obligation and use aggressive collections practices even when circumstances are beyond your control. We feel taken advantage of, and I would not recommend Banfield to anyone looking for honest or ethical veterinary care.
August 26 · Morela GomezTook my puppy up to get spayed and have a growth removed form her head. The staff and doctors are incredible!! They have done an amazing job with my dog and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend!
July 05 · Christopher BergquistNEVER GO HERE. my dog came home from a routine follow up and couldn't stop vomiting, ended up in vet ER, died 2 days later. I called, emailed, and even stood in front of Banfield people to get help figuring out what might have happened so we could help my dog... they couldn't even be bothered to call. The discount subscription is a scam they don't let you cancel, the treatments are constant wrong prescriptions, they never give the right information, nothing but problems. NEVER go here.
July 30 · Matt StephensonBoth this location and the Denton location are terrible. Our senior dog needs a daily pill for chronic trachea issues, but only certain vets can write the prescription he needs (and they can only write it for a 30 day supply at a time). We ran into an issue with the Denton location regarding them writing a prescription on the wrong letterhead causing the pharmacy to not fill it, and having used both facilities, we hoped Flower Mound could help. But apparently their vet is off until Monday, so I guess that's that, and all we can do is wait because of Banfield's mistake. This is a common issue at the Flower Mound location of the vet we need being off for multiple days.I'm all for taking time off, as we definitely want a rested vet, but why do you only employee a single vet who can write important prescriptions?I regret our wellness plan purchase, and if our dog suffers because of Banfield's inability to provide proper care, then we'll proceed with any and all legal recourse for their negligence. All this to say, do yourself a favor and avoid Banfield. The front office staff is always sweet, but you're at the mercy of whichever vet is available at any given moment, and hopefully your pet doesn't run out of their meds while you wait to see who can help you in a few days time.
July 08 · AlanThe young girl at the front checking us in was so caring and friendly. Lori (Dr M) took her time to explain everything in detail, cared about us and our pet Rocky. Great experience. Thank you
