Zia Pet Hospital provides a range of general veterinary services designed to cater to the essential health needs of pets. Based on common practices for local veterinary clinics, their services likely include:
- Routine Wellness Examinations: Comprehensive physical check-ups are fundamental for monitoring your pet's overall health, identifying potential issues early, and maintaining their long-term well-being. These exams often include a thorough nose-to-tail assessment.
- Vaccinations: Essential immunizations tailored to your pet's specific needs, lifestyle, and exposure risks are crucial for protecting them against common and serious infectious diseases. This includes core vaccines for both dogs and cats, as well as non-core vaccines based on individual risk factors.
- Preventative Care: Beyond vaccinations, preventative services often include parasite control programs (for fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites), nutritional counseling to maintain a healthy weight and diet, and advice on age-appropriate care to prevent future health problems.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, the hospital likely offers various in-house or outsourced laboratory services, such as blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal examinations. These tests help veterinarians gain critical insights into your pet's internal health. Imaging services, such as digital radiography (X-rays), are also typically available for assessing musculoskeletal issues or internal organ abnormalities.
- Dental Care: Oral health is a vital component of a pet's overall well-being. Services often include professional dental cleanings under anesthesia, dental X-rays, and extractions of diseased teeth to prevent pain and systemic health issues stemming from poor oral hygiene.
- Minor Surgical Procedures: Common soft tissue surgeries, such as spaying, neutering, and the removal of lumps or superficial masses, are generally performed at general practice veterinary hospitals.
- Pain Management: Addressing both acute and chronic pain is essential for a pet's quality of life. The clinic likely provides solutions for pain relief, whether it's from injury, surgery, or ongoing conditions like arthritis.
- Pharmacy Services: For the convenience of pet owners, Zia Pet Hospital would typically have an on-site pharmacy to dispense necessary prescription medications, supplements, and other veterinary products.

Zia Pet Hospital Reviews
It's so unfortunate this happened bc I was hoping this would be my new go-to vet as I'm new to the area. I wanted to get my 2 new kitties their shots. I had no idea that kittens are so vulnerable to all kinds of diseases! I didn't know that a series of several appointments would be necessary for my indoor cats. So after 2 appointments and $280 I said NOPE.... I'M NOT DOING ANYMORE! I heard a very candid podcast about kitten health and immunizations. It turns out if a cat is going to be strictly indoors no shots are really necessary. So I honestly feel cheated/tricked by Zia and I really don't appreciate it.
May 30, 2025 · lMediocre Vet. Only one near me, and they have at times had some really good veterinarians, but they seem to have really high turn over, so you never get the good ones for long. Last time I was there they didn't check out a growth on my dogs back I asked them too, and never gave me a quote on a tooth extraction, despite promising it, after they identified my dog needs (and she does). I really don't want have to pay for another visit to get these two things checked out that should have been done the first time.
Jul 23, 2025 · Dylan SheriffThis review is very overdue. It's now the one year anniversary of when Dr. Trujillo and Dr. Hale diagnosed a dog that I had been desperately trying to save. I had picked him up in Alabama, literally starving to death. He unfortunately wasn't my first starvation case, but sadly his condition was far more complicated than that.Other veterinarians ran multiple tests and gave iffy answers, they tried different diets and medications; one even wanted to do exploratory surgery to see why he couldn't keep food down. This upset me greatly because I doubt he would have survived that.Dr. Trujillo and Dr. Hale ran some labs, asked a lot of questions, and came back with some idea of what was going on. He had an obstruction of the duodenum. They got us scheduled shortly thereafter for emergency surgery at Roadrunner. I was so elated to have an answer. We were all hoping that he had eaten something he shouldn't have while scavenging and that removing it would save him.Just to finish out the story, Oreo did not live. But these vets were correct about where the problem started. Unfortunately, it was tumors all the way down and there was no way to save him. But they were so compassionate and tried so hard for my Oreo. I couldn't have asked for more. Also, Dr. Trujillo made time to put one of our elderly cats to sleep when he took a downturn. I appreciate her greatly for not making him wait days to pass peacefully.Another doctor we love is Dr. Moulton. She has taken great care of several of our cats. Tooth extractions, bladder stones - you name it. She also takes great care of Bear, the dog we adopted after Oreo passed. Bear is a unique fella. He had knee surgery at Roadrunner, and Dr. Moulton keeps him pain-free with arthritis meds and keeps his seizures at bay. She also did great aftercare on our dog, Cubba, after he was attacked at a dog park (Roadrunner stitched him up since it happened on a weekend). He had several sites with stitches and Dr. Moulton was there for us anytime we had questions or concerns. We love all of the staff at Zia. They know our pets, they know us, and they are there for us when we need them. I couldn't recommend this veterinary office more!
Jan 10, 2025 · Blū XenethosSaw my kitty quickly and efficiently. Ran the necessary tests and gave me piece of mind within a 45 minute visit. Set my babe on the right course. All staff encountered were kind and knowledgeable.
Jun 05, 2025 · Hillary BassMy first experience with Zia Pet Hospital. My dachshund-mix had been injured at his day care facility by a much larger dog (head-butt to his side). I cannot recommend the fine folks at Zia and this clinic more highly! From Danielle, who greeted me so kindly this morning, to Julie who came in and gently met my dog, to Dr. Hale, who took such superlative care of his injury. They advertise that they treat our pets like they are their pets. Truer words were never spoken! The compassion and care from everyone I met today are absolutely genuine. My dog has severe separation anxiety, and I expected to pick up a rather agitated dog this afternoon. He was calm, happy, and much better for his treatment. If you need a vet, you need Zia Pet Hospital! Cutting-edge technology with the hearts to go with it! Thanks to everyone who cared for my boy today!
