★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First time going to this location. I wasn’t told there was a bell to ring upon arrival for when the store is closed. Nor is the bell obviously seen. You have to look for the bell (on left hand side of main door). So it was a little annoying that I had to wait for a worker to let me in (still didn’t inform me about the bell) and still get a condescending attitude from the front desk rep about it when I asked her about the bell. She replied “it’s in the front of the store” when I asked her where it’s at because I truly didn’t know where it was at. Pet Smart needs to pay them more. Perhaps .50 more the hour and they would be willing to share that the bell is located on the left hand side of the door when they call you prior to confirm appointment. Doctors and techs were great and very friendly.Disappointing first experience but treatment was good with my dog so that’s all that matters. On a side note, the front desk rep did help me with an insurance inquiry at the end of the appointment/pick up time. I just wished for bell information up front, especially if you’re not familiar with procedures and location of things.
May 28 · Elena BThis entire review will be about Jackie and Jackie only. I had two ridiculously bad experiences trying to go to the Evanston location. But I was also dogsitting a dog who is in this network, so I had no choice but to give them another shot. The Skokie location is easy enough to get to (and an excuse to browse around the mall), but I was beyond over Banfield. However, I made the appointment anyway after canceling the Evanston appointment. The customer service is night and day between the two: Skokie location answers the phone during working hours, responded to a voicemail, called me to confirm my upcoming appointment, and the person I spoke with (Jackie) was really friendly and professional. I told her she needs to train the team at Evanston.I didn't end up completing the visit once the dog owner and I agreed that we could wait for her pup to do a follow-up at her "regular" location (that's nowhere near me). And the dog is doing great, which is why this was no longer the emergency it originally was. So I cannot say what it would've been like had I stepped foot in the actual Skokie Banfield location. I'm just judging on first impressions and phone customer service, and I'm hoping the two mirror each other. If I ever had an issue with my dog's current vet or the hospital near me for my own dog, this would be my third choice.
June 26 · Shamontiel VaughnThey killed my fur baby💔 I came here in December because my dog gotten an ear infection and they put her on medication for a 2 weeks I noticed her get better the said they wanted continue to have her on the medication and I stupidly agreed because they're supposed to be professional. At the end of the month, I noticed she was having bad side effects to the medication, and when I brought it to their attention, all they said was they would lower the dosage, which still didn't help. Each person I spoke to there never walked me through the prices or what the medication does except for 1 guy and and all the women would be so quick to get me to pay instead of walking me through everything. The first week of January, I took her to an emergency room at 3am. Because she was having a hard time breathing, and 2 hours later, she passed. I regret not taking her off the medication because it could have saved her, but I STUPIDLY PUT MY TRUST IN INCOMPETENT PEOPLE. LISTEN TO YOUR GUT WHEN YOU FEEL SOMETHING WRONG, IT COULD SAVE YOUR PETS LIFE.
April 28 · Bianca DeleonIt can be a long wait to get checked in/out and difficult to get a last minute appointment at times…. but….The woman who works the front desk is always so warm, happy, and helpful!! Especially how much she has to do on her own!! I’m always happy to see her.Dr Tara is so helpful and caring! Thanks for being so great!!Also, the pricing seems very competitive.
January 23 · laura ruppAwesome vet tech here which helped us so much, he really went above and beyond and making sure we could get the medicine we need in today's visit while explaining other options available such as the price match option after we were planning to order the medication online somewhere else(chewy). He knew our cat needed medication right away and because of our financial circumstances we were gonna try to order the medication online after the final price rose high because we told by other staff that we needed to get our cat vaccinated right there and then if we wanted him to get care there since he wasn't vaccinated for rabies prior. We also added a microchip but we didn't know the cost of medication yet because my cat needed to get checked out first. I'm glad we were able to save some money and get medication desperately needed for my cat which has a slight eye infection of some sort. The vet tech also helped us find something in the PetSmart store, the treats that are able to cover medication so that pets can take them. I'm so glad this amazing vet tech was here to help us today, because my family was so worried about the total cost of everything but also wanted to help our cat get the treatment he needs.
