Beacon Veterinary Specialists offers a range of advanced and emergency veterinary services designed to address critical and complex medical needs for your pets.
24/7 Emergency and Critical Care: Our primary focus is providing immediate and continuous care for pets experiencing life-threatening conditions or sudden illnesses and injuries. This includes addressing issues like toxin ingestion, severe trauma, sudden onset of illness, and other critical situations.
Advanced Diagnostics: We utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to quickly identify the root cause of your pet's condition. This may include digital radiography (X-rays), ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal tests), and other specialized imaging techniques.
Internal Medicine Specialties: For complex or chronic internal diseases, our specialists are equipped to diagnose and manage conditions affecting various organ systems, including gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine diseases, kidney disease, and more.
Surgical Services: Our veterinary surgeons are prepared to perform both emergency surgeries (e.g., foreign body removal, wound repair) and scheduled complex soft tissue and orthopedic procedures.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Hospitalization: We provide a dedicated ICU environment for critically ill or injured pets requiring continuous monitoring, intravenous fluid therapy, oxygen support, and other advanced life-saving interventions.

Specialized Consultations: We offer consultations with veterinary specialists for complex cases that require in-depth expertise and advanced treatment planning.
Beacon Veterinary Specialists strives to provide a unique and supportive experience for pet parents during stressful times, emphasizing certain key features and highlights.
Emergency Expertise and Availability: As a 24-hour emergency clinic, we are available precisely when pet owners are in a panic and need immediate care, even late at night, a crucial aspect highlighted by a grateful cat owner whose pet swallowed yarn.
Reasonable Consultation Fees (as per some experiences): Compared to other 24-hour emergency facilities, one client found our consultation fees to be more reasonable, a significant factor when facing unexpected emergency costs.
Compassionate and Informative Staff: Many clients praise the care and attention provided by the staff and doctors. They are described as patient, thorough in answering questions, and excellent at keeping pet parents informed throughout the treatment process. The sentiment that staff "just get it" because they are pet parents themselves resonates deeply with clients.
Direct Doctor Communication: The willingness of doctors to personally come out and speak with pet owners to explain diagnoses and treatment plans, as noted in the positive review, fosters trust and provides much-needed reassurance during stressful situations.
Successful Patient Outcomes (Positive Cases): For many pets, like "sweet Yuki boy" who recovered completely after swallowing yarn, the expert care provided at Beacon leads to successful resolutions and a return to normal health, bringing immense relief to their families.
However, it is important to acknowledge that some clients have reported concerning experiences, which should also be considered when evaluating the hospital:
Concerns Regarding Communication and Consent for Critical Care: One highly critical review highlights a severe communication breakdown where significant life-saving measures, including CPR and oxygen, were performed overnight without explicit consent or immediate updates to the owner. This led to a large unexpected bill and, tragically, the pet's passing, causing immense distress and a feeling of betrayal.
Unexpected Cost Escalation: The same critical review details a drastic increase in the bill from an initial $3000 down payment to an $11,000 total upon pickup, without prior notification or explanation of the escalating costs and procedures performed.
Questionable Transparency and Ethics (as perceived by one client): The concern was raised that staff might prioritize billing over pet welfare, particularly in critical situations, and that transparency about a pet's declining condition was withheld.

Beacon Veterinary Specialists Reviews
Thank goodness for this clinic and all of the staff there. This is the place you want to go when you’re in a panic and need emergency care for your beloved furry family member. My goober of a cat swallowed a piece of yarn late in the night, and I knew I had to bring him in. Of all the 24hr emergency places I called, this place had the most reasonable consultation fee. Moreover, the care and attention they put into caring for my cat and making sure I was kept informed throughout really meant a lot to me. You can tell all the staff there are pet parents themselves; they just get it. They were so patient, answered all my questions, and never made me feel dumb. The doctor herself even took the time to come out and speak with me.I hope I never have another pet emergency, but if I do I am 100% coming back here. I would also recommend this place to fellow pet parents without hesitation. My sweet Yuki boy is back to his normal self again thanks to everyone here and it means the world to me 💕
Apr 09, 2025 · Jessica LuMarch 27, 2025 I took my dog to Beacon veterinary hospital. I took my dog to the emergency because due to the fact that it was bitten by a bigger dog an hour or two prior to me, arriving to beacon veterinary hospital. They gave me a bill for $5000 and it was around 9 PM on March 27 and they told me my dog’s heart rate and breathing is normal and everything seems fine. I agreed and paid $3000 in order for them to take care of my dog and treat Yokomo (my dog) I went home thinking that everything is fine and got a good night rest because they told me I can pick up Yokomo the following morning around 7 AM. When I got there at 6:45 AM they gave me a bill for $11,000 on top of what I paid. I saw this. And was not worried about the money. I was just thinking that my dog will be OK. After they told me that overnight, they had to do CPR a few times and had to give oxygen a few times to Yokomo I was completely shocked that when they told me everything was fine the night prior and then this morning I come in with a huge bill and still my dog is not doing well. (They did all of this without my consent. They did not call me. They did not update me and they waited for me to come in to give me all of this information) Then I overheard one of the nurses tell the nurse that the feet and hands are cold and the dog will not live much longer. As I heard this another nurse was telling me let’s do an ultrasound to spend more money. My dog unfortunately did not make it, but I would like to write this review for anyone that wants to take their pet to this place. Please do not. They ended up killing my dog that I had 10 years. This is unacceptable. I will be taking legal action against them and will not stop until I get Justice for me and other people that are harmed the same way. They took $3000 and on top of that my pet passed away. They did not take care of my dog properly. The room was cold at 66° when I took a look and they all they wanted to do was knowing a dying pet and a loving owner is willing to spend money, even though they know that the pet will not live much longer. I hope I can touch your heart and your mind and understand that this place will kill your pet. Please stay away from them.

Apr 01, 2025 · Edwin9527 tamOur dog Yokomo passed away at this hospital. Dr. Michelle and her team were terrible, full of lies, and showed complete disregard for Yokomo's life. The incident occurred after Yokomo was bitten by a large dog, and we rushed him to this hospital for treatment. After the examination, the doctor came in with the X-ray to explain Yokomo’s condition. The doctor said everything seemed fine but mentioned that part of Yokomo's spine had been bitten off, and that it would need time to recover. Throughout the entire discussion, the focus was only on the spine issue. The doctor stated that Yokomo needed to stay overnight for observation. At no point did the doctor mention any issues that could lead to Yokomo’s death. Could a spinal injury cause our dog to die? We called a veterinary friend back home, and they said that a spinal injury wouldn't lead to death. So what caused Yokomo’s death? The hospital never mentioned it. Their staff told us that Yokomo had been resuscitated several times during the night, but they never notified us. Then, at 6:40 AM the next day, when we were about to go pick up Yokomo, the hospital called and told us that he was close to passing. Why the coincidence? It seemed as though they waited until the exact moment we were about to pick him up to tell us. We can hardly imagine what Yokomo went through during the night. Why, when we saw him the night before, he seemed fine? When we called his name, he even raised his head in response. The Beacon hospital's doctors were negligent in their care, and both he and his team were extremely irresponsible. They just kept avoiding responsibility. They denied that the doctor had said oxygen wasn't necessary and denied telling us to pick up Yokomo at 7 AM. The statements from their doctors and nurses didn’t match, and each person had a different version of events. They never considered the situation from Yokomo’s perspective. In the end, when Yokomo was barely alive on the bed, the doctor even suggested we do a CT scan, which would cost $10,000. It was at this point we realized this hospital was only trying to make money, even wanting to profit from Yokomo’s final moments. After Yokomo passed away, the hospital still couldn’t provide a clear explanation for his cause of death.
Apr 01, 2025 · sihua huangThis was our second emergency visit with our cats. Both times we were met with very kind and empathetic staff. Everyone from the front desk, medical staff and doctors were great. They provided very clean and comfortable rooms for us and attended to everything we needed. They made the process as smooth and comfortable as loosing a family member (pet) can be. Highly recommend their 24 emergency service when needed.
