- Compassionate and Dedicated Team: Many positive reviews highlight the "wonderful" care provided by "Dr. Moffatt and his team," praising their "passion for your animals" and making clients "feel at ease" even in "challenging situations." The team states they "truly treats your pets as if they were our own," with highly educated veterinarians and a commitment to high standards of clinical care.

This capability saves time and potentially a pet's life by providing immediate access to critical services.
However, some reviews indicate areas of concern, particularly regarding communication and billing transparency. Some clients have reported "constant hidden charges" and inflated bills without prior notification, especially concerning dental cleanings. Issues with consistent communication (e.g., only contacting one spouse despite requests for a different primary contact) and a perception of staff being more focused on upselling services rather than prioritizing pet needs have also been mentioned. This suggests that while medical care can be excellent, customer service consistency and billing clarity might vary for some clients.

Irvington Pet Hospital Reviews
Dr. Moffatt and his team are wonderful. The care they provide is terrific, and you feel their passion for your animals immediately. It's the best!! I'm happy I can post this.
Apr 18, 2025 · Phillip CantorTerribly run clinic. It’s been on the decline since Dr. Rue retired. It’s like no one who works there cares enough to communicate with each other. There was a period of about two years where the clinic staff called and emailed only my wife despite my request that I be the first point of contact. They also have constant hidden charges and tried to charge my $75 for talking to one of the vets for 5 minutes when I had just brought my dog in for a shot. I literally walked out of the clinic at that point and the manager had to call and apologize for the miscommunication between the staff. I had a teeth cleaning for my dog and the $1000 charge inflated to $1250 due to some hidden charge that they tacked on. Apparently my 14 pound chihuahua’s teeth took them so long to clean that they had to keep her for half a day and charge me extra. And during all those hours, no one bothered to even call me to let me know that I would be charged more than my estimate. The manager talked to me and said there’s nothing she can do…and yet I received an email yesterday saying that any teeth cleanings scheduled in the next month will get a $150 discount. What a slap in the face!! It’s like they just assume everyone is independently wealthy and will pay every charge because they love their dogs. I love my dog, which is why I’m not taking her to these thieves anymore.

Apr 02, 2025 · Taylor GoettingWe brought in a stray that we'd been feeding and are now adopting to Irvington Pet Hospital and had a very positive experience. We were helped by Jessica, Mauricio, and Dr. Rao, and it's obvious they are all animal lovers. They were sweet and compassionate, professional, and made a challenging situation so pleasant. They were empathetic to us and to our sweet little Daisy, who we learned has FIV, a respiratory infection, and wounds to her head and eyes from a bad scrap out in the streets. We're confident she'll be a hundred percent very soon and will be bringing her back (and will never be in those streets again). These types of visits are usually quite stressful, but we left feeling cared for and optimistic.
Dec 15, 2024 · Jean-Luc RoulandUpdate: Stay away from this clinic. This new Vet'n'Care chain is a rip-off. Every visit is now no less then $300+. Our last cat had to be put down and again the bill was enormous. Stayed with them because of the location convenience for my elderly aunt. Now we no longer have to deal with them. Look for another place, really. The minute you see vet'n'care - run! Unless you don't care about your hard earned money and real care for your pets.Ever since this practice was sold, the quality of service went down but charges went up. Even for the blood work they charge you for the visit now. They forget to mention that you need to stop giving the meds prior to the blood work and the visit had to be rescheduled. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's not. And it's worth mentioning. They stopped giving 3-year vaccines just because. I asked if there was any particular reason for that, the answer was "We stopped offering it in this office". Feels like it's all about money now.
