While your regular veterinarian is your primary partner for ongoing wellness, there are times when an unexpected health issue arises outside of normal business hours, but it’s not quite a life-threatening emergency warranting a full emergency room visit. This is precisely where UrgentVet steps in, providing a vital bridge in pet healthcare. Located in Charlotte, UrgentVet is dedicated to offering prompt, compassionate, and affordable urgent care for your beloved animal companions.
UrgentVet operates with a clear mission: to be there for your pet when your regular vet cannot. For Charlotte residents, knowing about UrgentVet means having a reliable option for those unexpected "just not feeling well" moments or minor injuries that can’t wait until morning.

Their focus on efficiency, combined with a deeply caring team, ensures that pets receive the right care at the right time. This is invaluable for pet parents in North Carolina who want to ensure their furry family members are always looked after, even when unforeseen circumstances arise outside of standard clinic hours.

This feedback emphasizes the convenience of immediate rooming, professional interaction, and thoughtful follow-up.
Another glowing review stated, "Dr. Helmer and Taylor (vet assistant) were professional, knowledgeable, caring, and efficient during my dog’s visit. Jun 11, 2025 · ashley vernierThe staff was very nice and they were able to get us in quickly. Test results came back fast and we thought the treatment recommendations were very reasonable although their price was very high in comparison to other emergency vets I’ve seen. I thought it would be lower with the advertisement that they’re less expensive than a normal Emergency Vet. At the same time, we did get really good service and fast test results. We were in and out of the office within an hour to an hour and a half at the most.
Mar 24, 2025 · April VillinesThe staff was nothing short of amazing! They made our pup feel very comfortable. Easy on the pockets and they go the extra mile to make sure your loved ones are cared for. I would highly recommend and would return. Thank you again to your wonderful staff! Ethel appreciates you!!
Mar 21, 2025 · Jessica JohnsonWe had a good experience at UrgentVet Short Pump. We live closer to Carytown, but called ahead and learned they couldn’t see us (they referred us to their other locations). The Short Pump location was able to schedule to receive us promptly and took very good care of our doggy. They were caring and considerate from the moment we called, through our arrival, treatment, and discharge. They conducted an intake and provided us with a cost estimate prior to treating our doggy. We felt well informed and cared for, and left satisfied, reassured about our dog’s recovery.
