Berwyn Veterinary Center For Integrative Medicine, under the expert guidance of Dr. Leah Whipple, offers a distinctive range of services that integrate both conventional and complementary therapies. This approach allows them to address a wide spectrum of pet health issues, focusing on comprehensive well-being.
- Integrative Veterinary Medicine: This is the core of their practice, combining the best of traditional Western medicine with various holistic modalities to provide comprehensive and tailored treatment plans.
- Acupuncture: As a certified veterinary acupuncturist, Dr. Whipple utilizes this ancient Chinese technique to help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and address various conditions like arthritis, anxiety, and even internal imbalances. It works by stimulating specific points on the body with thin needles to promote natural healing.
- Chinese and Western Herbal Therapies: Employing the power of natural herbs, specific formulas are prescribed to support organ function, boost immunity, manage chronic conditions, and reduce reliance on pharmaceuticals.
- Nutritional Counseling and Food Therapy: Emphasizing "food as medicine," the clinic provides guidance on appropriate diets, including home-cooked food recipes and suitable commercial options, to prevent disease, manage conditions, and improve overall health. They understand how processed foods can contribute to inflammation and other issues.
- Photobiomodulation Laser Treatments: Utilizing advanced laser therapy to speed healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and stimulate cellular repair for various injuries and conditions.
- Conventional Veterinary Medicine: Dr. Whipple is an integrative practitioner, meaning she thoughtfully incorporates traditional pharmaceuticals and diagnostics when medically necessary, ensuring a balanced approach to care. This includes routine wellness and potentially diagnostic capabilities.
- Wellness and Preventive Care: While not explicitly detailed, an integrative practice typically includes routine examinations, vaccinations (often with a thoughtful, minimized approach), and parasite control as part of a holistic wellness plan.
- Management of Chronic Conditions: Their integrative approach is particularly beneficial for chronic conditions such as arthritis, certain cancers (like hemangiosarcoma as highlighted in a review), and other long-term ailments where conventional medicine alone may not be sufficient.

Sep 10, 2018 · Bonnie HildebrandtThe staff and vets here are wonderful. I have been taking my three cats to them for over a decade. They are always very nice, patient and kind with my cats and really listen to any questions or concerns s I have. It won't be the cheapest option for vet care but the price is worth the service.
