Brush Run Veterinary Clinic Reviews
I’m deeply disappointed in the care (or lack thereof) we recently received. We’ve been loyal clients for years, trusting this clinic with our pet’s health. So when our dog had an urgent issue and we reached out for an emergency appointment, we were shocked and saddened to be turned away.Emergencies don’t happen on a schedule, and the fact that an established client couldn’t be seen—or even squeezed in for a quick assessment—felt incredibly dismissive. I understand being busy, but I expected more compassion and flexibility from a team that knows our dog and our history.Sadly, this experience has made us question continuing care here. I hope this feedback encourages the clinic to re-evaluate how they handle emergency situations, especially for long-standing clients.
Jun 23, 2025 · Karly krelicMy elderly cat was struggling with using his box. He and I had been going around and around with trying different methods for him to go back to using his box for roughly eight months, with no success. When I took him to Brush Run, it turned out that he had kidney cancer. The poor boy was suffering and I had no idea. I think it was Dr. Foil who saw us and found this out. I'm sorry that I don't remember the doctor's name, as I was in a state. Anyway, the doctor was EXTREMELY compassionate in our discussions of what could be done and proposed results. She made me very comfortable with the decision to put him down. She told me more than once that this decision was very reasonable, considering his health and what future he had. Everyone allowed me to hold him during the process and gave me all of the time I needed to say goodbye to my 17 year old "skitty kitty." The empathy shown and the time spent was fully needed. Thank you to all for being so wonderful during this difficult time. Truly - I cannot thank you enough!
May 16, 2025 · BB V (BB)Disappointed After Years of Loyalty – Pushed Unnecessary Treatments and Poor CommunicationOur dog, now 3.5 years old, has been going to Brush Run Veterinary Clinic since he was a puppy. After years of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I’ve finally decided to switch vets due to ongoing issues with how they handle care and communication. At nearly every visit, I felt pressured into unnecessary testing or treatments. Saying “no” to anything often felt met with judgment or subtle pushback. For example, I was urged to spend $90 on a SNAP test for Lyme disease—despite no symptoms or risk factors. At his recent well-check, the vet swabbed his ears (which were clean and non-irritated) and ran lab work without informing me beforehand. Unsurprisingly, the labs showed no infection, yet I was still charged and nearly given $40+ ear drops he didn’t need. Had I not asked questions, I would’ve been charged for them—again, without consent.Throughout the visit, my questions were barely acknowledged, and the whole experience felt rushed and dismissive. What’s more, they consistently push their in-house pharmacy, which is often three times more expensive than Chewy or local pharmacies like CVS. They don’t offer those cheaper alternatives unless you specifically ask. We’ve since switched to a new vet, and the difference was like night and day. The new clinic listened, explained things clearly, and didn’t push costly testing. When our dog had a slight leg issue, they examined him thoroughly—without charging extra—and recommended we simply monitor it for now rather than rushing into expensive diagnostics. For the first time, I felt like both my dog and I were genuinely cared for. After three years at Brush Run, I can honestly say I never experienced that level of compassion, transparency, or trust. I would not recommend this clinic based on our repeated experiences.
Jun 29, 2025 · kateThey were the only office that got me in the same day that I called and I'll forever be grateful because they saved my baby girl, Raige's life. Great staff and doctor and very reasonable price.
Apr 30, 2025 · Bethany AltomoreI transferred to Brush Run Veterinary Clinic because I was dissatisfied with my present veterinarian in the city. Though I live in the city, I know the value of quality care and am willing to drive a distance. And this was a bit of a distance. But the reason I was leaving my former veterinarian was because my phone calls went unheeded and unanswered. One was a health issue and the other was simply after receiving reminders that it was time to schedule an appointment, calling for that appointment, and receiving no phone call back after multiple attempts. As a physician, I know that we don't really need our care providers when things are going smoothly; we need them when the road is bumpy. And if I can't count on my veterinarian in good times, when the chips are down, who will be there?I scheduled an initial visit online with BRVC. I asked them for a form to transfer my records. Within 10 minutes, I received notification that my records had been requested from my previous vet. I received several reminders of the appointment. I got instructions for the day of the visit. What I'm trying to say is that the difference between customer service and quality of care was like night and day. Whereas I couldn't get my former veterinarian to return my phone calls, even when my dog was sick, the process of scheduling and assuring that my old records were present was turnkey with BRVC.As regards the actual visit, Dr. Lancia spent time with me, examined my dog, listened to my concerns, and just generally spent time with me. All in all, a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone there. In evidence of this, I entrusted a family member to BRVC, namely my dog!
