- Anesthesia
For several different procedures in pets, anesthesia is used to curb the animal’s nerve and sensory response. It numbs any part of the body, putting your beloved pet into an unconscious state. While in this condition, your pet is unable to feel any pain or movement that is needed in certain operations. There are different types of pet anesthesia that Care Animal Hospital provides: General Anesthesia, where the pet is made completely unconscious by injection or inhalation. Sedative Anesthesia, which is the administration of short acting agent to accomplish procedures. Local Anesthesia, which desensitizes only a localized area of the pet’s body and is applied directly through an injection of local anesthetic. Topical Anesthesia, or the application to the skin desensitizing the local area.

- De-Vocalization - Debark
Debarking requires general anesthesia, but immediately removes the ability of your dog to produce sound when it tries to bark. It may require sedation until your dog heals (about two weeks) as it is important to ensure your dog does not bark during recovery. Debarking can last forever, however sometimes it does require an additional procedure after a period of time (typically years, if needed) as some dogs can grow additional tissue (regrow the removed glass from the rim of the bottle) and bark again, although usually it is much quieter than their original bark.

- Endoscopy
Is your pet exhibiting signs of disease indeterminable by typical tests and examinations? An endoscopy is a type of gastrointestinal exam where a small tube is inserted into the pet’s mouth, through the esophagus, and into the stomach. This small tube, called the endoscope, has a built-in camera at the tip, allowing for real-time viewing of your pet’s internal organs and structure. This procedure helps veterinarians and pathologists to see if there are any problem areas that need looking into. Commonly prescribed to pets showing signs of diarrhea, vomiting, and weight loss, among others, an endoscopy allows vets to see if there are any underlying diseases, tumors, or abscesses in your pet. If your vet sees any abnormalities, they are also able to pass a biopsy instrument to take samples of the specific area. Through this procedure, we may be able to diagnose obscure illnesses that are difficult to pinpoint without seeing your pet’s internal makeup.

- Feline Declaw
Declawing your cat is a common procedure to help prevent household felines from continuously scratching and clawing. This safe and painless procedure can save your home while not providing any issues for your cat. Our method is the Blade declawing process, where the blade directly cuts through the cat’s nail joints, removing just the nail and no other surrounding tissue. The surgical site is closed with one drop of surgical glue. We believe this is the absolute best technique for feline declaw.

- Immunizations
Pet immunizations are essential tools to aid in the healthy upbringing of your pet. Immunization is the medical procedure in which an animal is provided an agent to help strengthen their immune system, as well as develop the antibodies to fight against certain illnesses. The core vaccines we provide are those that should be taken by all animals, regardless of breed, size, or age. This type of vaccine specifically aids in the prevention of contracting widespread diseases such as: Parvovirus, Canine distemper, Canine hepatitis, Rabies, Heartworm, Panleukopenia, or feline distemper, Feline Calcivirus, and Feline Herpesvirus. Meanwhile, the non-core vaccines that we provide are those that should be given based on the pet’s lifestyle and exposure risk. They are considered as supplements depending on the specific pet’s needs. This includes: Bordetella bronchiseptica, Leptospira bacteria, Borrelia burgdorferi, Feline leukemia virus, Chlamydophila felis, and Feline immunodeficiency virus.

Laboratory work for animals helps ensure your pet is given the appropriate care and treatment they need for long and healthy life. A majority of illnesses can be treated and cured in pets for as long as there is early detection. With laboratory work such as complete blood count (CBC), urinalysis, and/or fecal testing among others, your vet will be able to check for any specific abnormalities that might need further examination. Here are the different types of laboratory testing we conduct here at Care Animal Hospital: Complete Blood Count (CBC), Blood Chemistry test, Urinalysis, Fecal testing, CytologyThyroid test, Parasite infestation check, and Heartworm exam.

In the event of a tumor, a broken bone, or internal bleeding (among many others), surgery is used by vets to treat the problem area directly at the root. For urgent surgical procedures, this usually happens when both oral and topical medication is no longer enough to fight the complication and your pet is in need of a more invasive procedure. We take surgery very seriously, and provide the following: state-of-the-art veterinary surgical procedures, the highest level of medical technology for your pets, the latest monitoring equipment to ensure safe anesthetic demonstration, modern and innovative tools for the safest, most effective surgery, all executed by highly trained and highly experienced veterinary surgeons like Dr. Alcorn and Dr. Murphy.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr Brown and the entire care team were so wonderful!!! We had to bring our elderly cat in for a late night emergency visit—from the very first moment we spoke to Vanessa on the phone we knew this was the right place to bring our fur baby. The service and care was even better in person—every member of the staff was kind, patient, and gentle with our baby. All pet parents, this is the place you want to take your babies! ALSO, very fair pricing ESPECIALLY for an emergency visit—we had mentally prepared for a quote 3x more than what they charged us! A great vet office where you can FEEL how much they care about the pets AND owners 🤍
August 14 · Abbey DennisonMy parrot needed a toe amputation due to an old injury that was progressively getting worse. They said they could do it or could refer me to a specialist. The specialist was over 1k more than what they charge so we went with Care animal hospital. They were thorough, caring and provided support throughout his after surgery care. Highly recommended, they did a phenomenal job and my bird is doing so much better!
June 28 · AlishaDr Brown and Dr Martinez were both so caring and thorough. My puppies actually enjoyed the gentle attention that both of them used during their first examinations. The pups were tail wagging and playing instead of being frightened during the examinations.! Best first examinations ever ! Thank you to them and the kindness and attention that the front office staff has shown.
January 15 · Marilyn SchmidtThis place is absolutely amazing. I rescued a very sick neglected bearded dragon and took him here the next day. The vet was very compassionate towards him and so knowledgeable. They gave him fluids and some injections and advised me on home care. He doesn't even look like the same dragon. Thank you guys so much for helping my sweet Norbert feel better and participating in his second chance at life ❤️
August 16 · Makinley AsatoOne of the best Veterinary facilities in the area. Dr. Martinez and her team are so wonderful with my 110lb German Shepherd. He's treated so well and they are so kind. Definitely recommend!!!
