Cat Clinic of Norman Introduce
For cat owners across the Oklahoma region, finding a veterinary practice that truly specializes in the unique biology, behavior, and medical needs of felines can make all the difference in a pet’s health and well-being. The Cat Clinic of Norman, often referred to as the Norman Cat Hospital, is a dedicated, feline-exclusive practice that offers a sanctuary of care where cats can feel more comfortable and less stressed. This specialization allows the entire team—from the receptionist to the veterinary technicians and the veterinarian—to focus their expertise entirely on cats, providing a depth of knowledge that general practices may not be able to match.
The clinic’s mission goes beyond basic medical treatment; it is built on a foundation of compassionate, thoughtful, and highly informative care. Led by dedicated professionals like Dr. Edward's, the staff is consistently highlighted by local Oklahoma clients for their exceptional warmth, professionalism, and ability to connect deeply with both the pet and the owner. This is particularly evident in sensitive situations, such as end-of-life care and complex diagnoses, where clients report feeling fully supported and guided every step of the way. The professional team strives to partner with pet owners, offering detailed education to ensure they are equipped to make the best decisions for their furry family members.
Choosing a cat-only environment means minimizing the stressors associated with a typical vet visit, such as the noise and presence of dogs. This deliberate, calm atmosphere contributes significantly to the quality of the medical exam and overall experience for the sensitive feline patient. For cat owners in Norman and the surrounding Oklahoma area, the Cat Clinic of Norman represents a superior standard of feline health care.
To ensure that the clinic experience is welcoming and stress-free for all clients, the facility maintains high standards of accessibility, which is particularly beneficial when managing nervous or unwell cats. The accessibility features include:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance: A clear and level pathway for easy entry and exit, accommodating all clients and their carriers.
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot: Dedicated parking spots to minimize the distance between the vehicle and the entrance, simplifying the transportation of pets.
- Wheelchair accessible restroom: Convenient and comfortable facilities available for client use during appointments.
Additionally, the clinic notes that Appointments are recommended. This suggests a dedicated, personalized approach to scheduling, ensuring that both the veterinary staff and the clients have the necessary time for thorough examinations and consultations, and preventing long wait times that could stress the feline patients. The presence of a clean Restroom also adds to the overall client comfort during their time at the clinic.
Due to their specialized nature and the high praise from customers regarding their medical diligence and support, the services they offer are of a high standard, including:
- Feline Preventative Wellness: Routine check-ups, physical examinations, and vaccinations customized to the specific age, lifestyle, and risk factors of the cat.
- Advanced Feline Diagnostics: Thorough diagnostic testing, including in-house lab work, to accurately and quickly identify the cause of complex health issues, as seen in cases requiring numerous tests for challenging diagnoses.
- Internal Medicine: Management and treatment of chronic and complex feline diseases, such as kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and cancer.
- Compassionate End-of-Life and Hospice Care: Expert guidance and support, including Home Hospice care and guidance for the arduous task of passing, delivered with immense dignity and respect.
- Surgery and Dental Care: A range of surgical procedures, often including feline-specific dental cleaning, examinations, and necessary extractions.
- Behavioral Consultation: Expertise in understanding and addressing behavioral changes and issues unique to cats, particularly beneficial for older felines like those exhibiting changes in behavior due to medical conditions.
- Client Education and Support: Providing informative, one-on-one conversation to educate owners on their cat’s condition, treatment steps, and long-term care plans, empowering owners to actively participate in their cat’s health.
- Feline-Exclusive Environment: The practice is a “Cat Clinic” and “Animal Hospital” dedicated solely to felines, which creates a low-stress, quiet, and non-threatening atmosphere, highly beneficial for typically anxious cats.
- Exceptional Compassionate Care: The core team, including Dr. Edward's, is consistently praised for being “top-notch professionals who are compassionate” and treating pets with “dignity and respect,” particularly during emotionally difficult situations like euthanasia and hospice care.
- Superior Informative Communication: Clients report leaving feeling like they “learnt more in one hour of conversation” than from numerous prior visits elsewhere, highlighting the clinic's dedication to detailed client education and addressing the root cause, not just symptoms.
- Commitment to Personalized Treatment: The practice is noted for its thoughtful approach, ensuring the pet is “cared for” and providing “guidance every step of the way” to find the best, most humane, and happiness-focused steps for the pet.
- High Accessibility Standards: The facility ensures client convenience and comfort with a Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- The level of care here is awesome, from the warm greeting the receptionist gives you to the vet tech that does the intake. Dr. Edward's and her staff are top-notch professionals who are compassionate with your fur-baby.We noticed changes in behaviors in our dear Ariel (15 years old). So we took her to the Emergency Referral Center since it was after hours, and the Cat Clinic was closed. The fine folks here discovered she had terminal cancer and to prepare ourselves for saying our goodbyes. I wanted a second opinion, so I called the Cat Clinic, and they were able to squeeze us in. After numerous tests, Dr. Edward's concurred with the diagnosis. We were devastated. She took great care in our situation and placed Ariel on Home Hospice care. When we had the arduous task of letting our Ariel go, she was there for us. Dr. Edward's guided us every step of the way. With her guidance, we were able to have Ariel in our presence for a little over two weeks. Our Ariel was treated with dignity and respect upon her passing. It was a tremendously sad day that day, and they gave us the time needed to grieve. If you are looking for a great vet, look no farther than here. You won't be disappointed. July 04 · John Bryan
- I have never, ever in my life been to a vet that was this wonderful. I’ve cherished a lot of cats in my life, and have been to a lot of vets. This has been, hands down, the most informative, thoughtful, and compassionate vet visit of my life. I left feeling like I learnt more in one hour of conversation than I had in seeking help across (literally) dozens of vet visits across the last few weeks. I felt listed to and like my cat was cared for. All I’ve wanted was to figure out the steps we could take to help my furry potato and make him happy again, not just throw a bandage on it, and I feel like I’m getting everything I could wish for. Ten out of five stars, this vet should go on TV as a celebrity or something. Also, shout out to the tech with the little Law and Bepo keychain, you were a real one. August 18 · Jacob
- 6 months ago: I took my cat Angel to this cat clinic today for a follow up appointment. I was taking him elsewhere until they overcharged me for his appointment and had me treat an ear infection with dog medicine costing $80! I've also tried one other veterinarian hospital, trying to find a good place to bring my cats. This Cat Clinic of Norman is awesome! My cat was happy during his visit, and Dr. Elenore did an amazing job! She did a thorough check up and noticed minor gingivitis and chin acne on my poor cat, and told me exactly what to do to take care of both. That's something I feel my last vet should have noticed.6 months later: My cat Angel saw Eleanor again, after having urination issues, and she diagnosed him with FIC and gave us a great treatment plan (seeing photo if you're interested)! I also loved that she was very knowledgeable about his condition. It's wonderful to see him happy again too!I couldn't be happier having come here. They always do a great job making sure my cats are comfortable and happy. The wait isn't too long either. They're also friendly and affordable, which is very important for me having three cats. Thank you, Cat Clinic of Norman! September 17 · Viviana
- If I could give more than 5 stars I would! After moving to OK several years ago, we had taken our Gracie to several veterinarians, Worst. Experience. Ever……. Without naming names!Fast forward to 2 months ago, My Gracie was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, high grade, very aggressive. Extremely rare in cats.Dr. Edwards did everything she could with medication to slow down the spread of the cancer. Within 2 months my Gracie wasn’t eating, lost weight and was just so sick. When it was time to let her no longer suffer, Dr. Edwards came to our home, we were able to keep Gracie comfortable and in her own surroundings. All of her staff, Kelly, Candace and the others, especially Dr Edwards are compassionate, professional and caring! Thank you all!!!! January 30 · Beverly Warren
- Amazing Staff, From beginning to end. The doctor really put a lot of care and effort for each of my concerns, and thoroughly explained each diagnosis with extreme kindness. August 14 · SAMANTHA TESSEIN
