Multiple reviews praise the medical team, with one customer specifically noting, "Dr Ray continues to be amazing." Another client stated, "With their care, she is acting at least 3 years younger, she's a whole new cat," after an emergency visit for an elderly pet. This indicates a high level of medical expertise and successful patient outcomes.
- Compassionate and Practical Care: The hospital is lauded for being "Very practical, reasonable and friendly." This suggests a balanced approach to veterinary medicine, offering effective treatments without unnecessary procedures, and ensuring owners feel supported.
- Responsiveness to Emergencies: A significant highlight is their willingness to "squeeze my elderly cat in for an emergency even though I was from out of town." This responsiveness to urgent situations, even for non-regular clients, is invaluable and demonstrates a commitment to animal welfare above all else.

- Affordability and Reasonableness: Clients find the services to be "reasonable," which is a crucial factor for many pet owners when seeking veterinary care.
However, it's also important to address a consistent concern raised by a client:

The review states, "she constantly has attitude, regardless of the situation," and describes experiencing "attitude and general rudeness while putting a dog down." Center Rutland Animal Hospital Reviews
Cannot recommend this place enough! They squeezed my elderly cat in for an emergency even though I was from out of town. With their care, she is acting at least 3 years younger, she's a whole new cat. Very practical, reasonable and friendly.
Apr 14, 2025 · Lisa Si’ve been using center rutland vet for nearly ten years. had you asked me back then, i would have spoken highly of them. dr ray continues to be amazing, but reception has gotten to be miserable. she constantly has attitude, regardless of the situation. it’s gotten to the point that i dread even calling to get my animals the care they need. after having received attitude and general rudeness while putting a dog down, i won’t be returning. we love dr ray but cannot tolerate the mistreatment of reception.
Jun 20, 2025 · Alana PearoI have been taking my 6yr old maltipoo and 2 year old sister cats to Center Rutland since we moved here two years ago. My dog needs regular dental cleanings which they provide. It is THE most affordable I’ve found in any area. The staff have always been gracious and timely with appointments. Just this week my cat had a foreign object stuck in her intestines. They got her in immediately and after multiple tests they were able to do an emergency surgery. The communication and compassion was beyond my expectations. We were able to take her home the next day. I called two days later concerned about the amount of food she was getting and they wanted us to bring her in right away. Dr. Ray showed us how to properly feed and medicate an unwilling cat. I’m very impressed with the care we received, the office staff as well as the clinical. Thank you!
Feb 25, 2023 · Amy MartinWe’ve been here multiple times for UTI treatment in our cats. It’s chronic for one of them at this point. Dr. Ray put them on the Hills Science Prescription urinary health diet and recommended us for the Hills To Home program… Multiple times. Tells us to speak to the receptionist about it. Every time she lies to our faces saying she’ll send the info over via email. We never get it. She’s so rude and unprofessional as well. Gaslights you when you call her out. Zero accountability for how she treats others. I guess it’s all about money in the end. They’d rather you buy directly from them so they see a profit. Even when Dr Rays exact words were, “there’s no use for a middleman, they can ship it right to you.” Alas without a written prescription, that’s impossible. Dr. Ray is lovely, but seemingly oblivious to the way the front desk is ran. Wouldn’t recommend based off of Marilyn’s lacking people skills and poor business ethics. A different vet may be pricier, but it’s probably worth it in the end if you respect yourself or your fur-babies.
Aug 10, 2024 · Anonymous SolesVery nice place to take your animals to. Very polite and knowledgeable. Very clean. Dr. Ray took great care of my elderly cat Sheba 🐈 😻. Reasonable prices.
