CVCA Boulder's mission is to offer a personalized and stress-free experience for pets with heart conditions. They understand that a cardiac diagnosis can be overwhelming, and their "concierge approach" is designed to provide comfort and reassurance. Appointments are often an hour long, which allows for ample time for a thorough examination, advanced diagnostics, and a detailed discussion of the findings. The clinic encourages owners to stay with their pets during the examination, including the echocardiogram, to help keep the pet calm and to allow for real-time explanations from the doctor. This collaborative environment ensures that pet owners are not just observers but active participants in their pet's care. Their commitment to seamless communication extends to the primary care veterinarian, with detailed reports sent out the same day to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to the pet's health. The focus on patient and client experience, combined with their specialized medical knowledge, sets CVCA Boulder apart as a leader in its field.

This unhurried approach allows the doctor to perform a thorough examination, conduct a full echocardiogram with the owner present, and explain the diagnosis and treatment plan in detail. The clinic’s commitment to collaborating with the pet's primary veterinarian ensures a seamless and coordinated approach to care. This continuity is vital, as a pet with a heart condition requires ongoing management and communication between different care providers. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1CVCA, Dr. Haines, and his team have literally been lifesavers for our feline princess, Elle. We never expected to have her almost three years after her diagnosis and are eternally grateful for that time. They have always patiently answered our many questions and listened to our endless stories as if Elle is the only patient they have to see that day. We would recommend CVCA and its team to anyone in need of a cardiologist for their beloved pet without question.
July 24 · Dodie CashellWe've had the unfortunate pleasure of needing this group since we got our pup. He was born with some significant heart issues, and they've been amazing helping us through it all. I love that we can be in the room and help out (if needed), and everything is explained as it happens. Detailed reports are sent to our primary vet and us as well.
June 15 · Holly WintermeyerEvery time we visit we and our cat are treated with respect and kindness. We appreciate that regardless of which doctor we see, they know the history and details around our case and take time to explain what is happening and answer questions. We trust them completely to care for our cat!
May 02 · Wendy ButlerLike many, my dog is "my best buddy." She has become a senior citizen with heart disease and our future time together is limited.Fortunately, her veterinarian/cardiologist is Dr. Lawrence Santistevan, a capable and compassionate man. He understands and addresses her needs and my own. We are both lucky to have him.I must not leave out his assistant, Jocelyn, who is every bit as capable and compassionate as Dr. Santistevan.Michael Maduff
July 03 · AbeThis was an incredibly well-organized and friendly office. It’s clear these folks enjoy what they do and have genuine compassion for the animals they treat. The process requires laying your dog on their side multiple times which is obviously stressful for most dogs; but again, the staff and doctor were incredibly patient and empathetic.Dr. Santistevan was personable and explained everything as he was doing it, pointing to the images on the ultrasound and describing what he saw which was interesting and comforting.I wouldn’t hesitate to take another pet there or recommend them to someone who needed this type of care for their dog.
