Dermatology for Animals - Scottsdale Reviews
I truly can’t say enough kind things about this vet team—especially Dr. Ahmed. Though we only met them once, they still took the time to send a handwritten card after our sweet boy Bogey passed, and that alone speaks volumes.Yes, their services are on the pricier side—but that’s simply part of pet ownership. What matters more is that they’re not just in it for the money. They genuinely care about both the animals and the people who love them. They’ll answer all your questions without hesitation and support you with patience and compassion every step of the way.We did get answers, though unfortunately, not the kind we were hoping for. Bogey, our beloved pitbull, was diagnosed with skin cancer and passed just two weeks later. It was heartbreaking—but it meant the world to be under the care of a doctor who had personally experienced the same diagnosis. Without even having to share her story, she made it clear that she understood. That kind of quiet empathy is rare and deeply appreciated. While pain management only gave us two short weeks, I’m grateful for every moment we had. And I’m incredibly thankful we found a team that gave us truth, support, and kindness during such a difficult time. Unfortunately no amount of money would have saved bogey . Cancer sucks .Thank you for treating Bogey with the love and respect he deserved—and for the beautiful card that brought a little light to our grief.
Jun 05, 2025 · AshleyCan’t rave enough about Dermatology for Animals in Scottsdale, specifically Dr. Frost. My young Papillon “Zero” had been dealing with an autoimmune issue that affected the skin around his eyes for several months. Our veterinarian referred us here after she was unable to wean him off prednisone successfully.I was so impressed after our first visit with Dr. Frost! She was incredibly personable and took her time looking at my pups entire history and came up with a new plan to try some different meds. The new plan worked and Zero is doing so well that Dr. Frost said we won’t need to come back unless there is an issue. I am so glad that Zero is doing so well but I was a little sad that we won’t need to see Dr. Frost again regularly. She’s truly a pleasure to deal with and not only an amazing veterinarian, but an amazing person too. You can see that she really loves her job and cares so much about her patients. We are so grateful for her expert care!
Jan 28, 2025 · Mary KrissGosh, what great follow up and care! This is not a "here's a prescription, have a nice day" practice. I truly feel that they are partners in the journey of finding relief for my little girl. I only wish *my* medical care was this proactive. Thank you Dr. Schick and her very knowledgeable medical assistant Aimee.
May 22, 2025 · Elise KnepperThis is the best place for any pet with allergy issues. I have 2 Sphynx cats that have always had ear wax problems (common in the breed) and they have taken very good care of them. My babies are now much more comfortable and not itching so much causing skin irritation.
Oct 22, 2024 · Melissa KolnikAll three of my cats developed some kind of skin infection over the course of 1 1/2years. It took a year before the second cat got it and then 3 months after that the third got it. I was not satisfied with my regular vet because they did not have answers for me and the treatments prescribed would only work for a limited period on the 1st cat. Having no confidence in their diagnosis or treatment plan I decided to seek out a dermatologist vet. My web search brought me to Dermatology for Animals. Today I had my first visit bringing in all three cats and the staff were spectacular! I finally got answers for what is going on with them. I feel like we finally got a diagnosis and this is because they did thorough testing and examination. If I followed my regular vets advice my cats would have received unnecessary medication and the side effects that come from that. This is going to be a long process but I have full confidence in Dr.Ahmed and her absolutely fabulous vet tech. I had to drive 21 miles to get here because the Gilbert location was so booked out (although that Drive wouldn't have been much better!). I am willing to do anything for my babies health and happiness and I am so grateful that I found Dermatology for Animals. They won't be very happy with me because of no more treats and some other changes including topical treatments. But it's for their best health so it's necessary. I Highly recommend the Scottsdale Dermatology for Animals Clinic if your pet is having any type of skin issues. Veterinary Care is expensive and going to a specialist is usually a little more so but in this case it was needed because my regular vet just wasn't getting the job done. (I'm writing this review in the exam room as I wait for them to type up instructions so I havent seen the bill yet but it would not change this review). Had I stuck with my regular vet I probably would have racked up a worse bill on exams and treatments that were pointless and weren't getting results. So we'll see how this goes! I am happy to work with them, excellent customer service, and I felt very involved in the process and heard.
