Services Offered
- Advanced Veterinary Dental Care: As a "Dental & Surgery Center," this clinic specializes in a wide range of advanced dental procedures for pets. This includes thorough dental exams, ultrasonic scaling and polishing, fluoride treatments, and comprehensive oral charting. They emphasize the importance of preventative dental care to avoid more serious issues.
- Dental X-rays and Imaging: Utilizing advanced dental imaging techniques, including digital dental X-rays, to detect problems beneath the gumline that aren't visible during a regular oral examination. This is crucial for accurate diagnosis of periodontal disease, tooth root abscesses, and other hidden issues.
- Tooth Extractions: Performing routine and complex tooth extractions when necessary, ensuring the removal of severely diseased or damaged teeth to alleviate pain and prevent further infection. They employ careful techniques to minimize trauma during extractions.
- Periodontal Therapy and Surgery: Addressing various stages of periodontal disease, including advanced treatments to save diseased teeth where possible. This can involve specialized gum surgery, bone grafting, and other interventions to restore oral health.
- Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics): Offering alternatives to tooth extraction for certain damaged teeth through root canal therapy, preserving the tooth and preventing infection, particularly for strategically important teeth.
- Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS): Beyond standard dental extractions, the center performs more intricate oral surgeries such as tumor removals, fracture repairs of the jaw, salivary gland surgery, and trauma reconstruction. They may utilize advanced human-grade techniques and equipment, including CT scans.
- General and Specialized Surgical Procedures: In addition to dental surgeries, the "Surgery Center" aspect implies they are equipped for a broader range of general and potentially specialized surgical procedures for pets. This can encompass soft tissue surgeries, mass removals, and other common operations.
- Pain Management: A strong emphasis on effective pain management before, during, and after dental and surgical procedures to ensure the pet's comfort and promote a smoother recovery.
- Anesthesia Monitoring: Rigorous anesthesia protocols and continuous monitoring during all dental and surgical procedures to ensure the safety of the pet.
Features / Highlights
- Highly Experienced and Compassionate Staff: A consistent highlight from long-term clients is the "amazing" staff and doctors who genuinely care for the animals. One client, who has brought their dogs for 19 years through various health issues and weekly visits, specifically commends the "People who genuinely care." This deep level of compassion is a significant draw for pet owners.
- Long-Standing Client Relationships: The fact that a client has been bringing their dogs to the clinic for 19 years, through multiple pets and prolonged health issues, speaks volumes about the consistent quality of care and the trust that has been built over decades.
- Specialization in Dental and Surgical Care: The clinic's name itself, "Dental & Surgery Center," indicates a specialized focus beyond general veterinary practice. This means they are likely equipped with more advanced tools, expertise, and protocols for complex oral health issues and surgical interventions.
- Ability to Handle Complex Cases: The review mentioning "several dogs with various health issues, some requiring weekly visits for prolonged time periods," suggests the clinic is capable of managing chronic and complex medical conditions, not just routine care.
- Acknowledged Popularity and Busyness: While one reviewer expressed significant frustration with wait times and communication, the fact that the clinic "can get very busy" (as acknowledged by the long-term client) often indicates a high demand for their services due to their reputation and quality of care. This suggests they are a sought-after facility.
- Areas for Operational Improvement: The critical review, while highlighting frustration, also points to specific operational areas where the clinic could enhance its client experience, particularly regarding communication about wait times and general organization. This feedback, while negative, offers insights into areas where prospective clients might set expectations.

Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic Dental & Surgery Center Reviews
I have brought my dogs here for 19 years, and I have never been disappointed. Through several dogs with various health issues, some requiring weekly visits for prolonged time periods, the staff and doctors have always been amazing! People who genuinely care. They can get very busy and that is hard to manage at times, but that can happen anywhere.
Jun 27, 2025 · Emma BenkoDon’t do it. Go somewhere else. Three hours we were here for the doc to look in our dog’s ear and get us medication. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes. No one wants to work and if you ask for the time, reception just looked so annoyed like I shouldn’t ask. There is no organization. Awful communication and just lack of respect for a client’s time. After we were here for 2 hours and I asked how much longer, we were told 3 minutes to 60 minutes. They have an operations problem. I can understand being short staffed but you communicate that and allow me to decide if I would like to stay. Also restaurants have the capability to let you know that your table is ready, this place can use the same system to show respect to a client’s time. The doc went to get medication and took over 25 minutes. It’s a hostage situation. Just go somewhere else. Time is valuable and their service isn’t great at all. I’m left disappointed and hate that for a business.
May 28, 2025 · nadibuns82We were anxious about getting our dogs teeth cleaned under anesthesia. They were super helpful, kind, and did a great job! They even followed up the next day via text to check in on our dog. Would highly recommend coming here for a dental cleaning!
Apr 24, 2025 · RI took my beloved Cornish Rex, Ellis in here for various reasons as he was 17 and having health issues. The entire staff was understanding and sympathetic toward the hardest decision for me to make to have him euthanized. I just want to say that Marie holds a special place in my heart for setting everything up for me to do what was best for him. I was able to take him home for the day and spend time with him and he was sent over the rainbow bridge at home. Much of the day is a blur but I’ll never forget this Marie. Thank you so much for being there for us. ♥️♥️♥️
Apr 19, 2025 · Christina MThere is one doctor here that is great, unfortunately I don’t remember his name, but he’s an Asian guy and the only one at SVCD that is a good person. He was very honest and helpful with one of our cats. Then I had three other doctors that dealt with another cat of mine that was elderly, and they suggested a very invasive surgery where she ended up dying five days later and was in pain the whole five days she was alive. Considering that she was a super senior and she had to get a splenectomy done, they should’ve advised that it was gonna be too hard on her frail body.I don’t even care that I spent $7900, I’m upset that they did it just for the money and made my elderly cats suffer terrible the last 5 days.Emergency vet on 24th and camelback is far better than this place.
