Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City Reviews
I was blown away by the level of care my Red Lored Amazon parrot, Sam, received by Dr. Frey and her team. Ashley was so kind, she explained everything to me so well. Olivia came in later and she too was also very kind & caring. I wish they took dogs & cats as regular patients too but I won't be greedy. I'm so glad I found a place close to me that sees exotics. How awesome they all are though, that is rare. I highly recommend this veterinary practice! 10+
Mar 20, 2025 · Eydie LiebermanI can’t thank the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City enough for the incredible care they gave my sweet (and mischievous) Vinnie over the past few days and nights. From the moment we rushed in after his unexpected corn cob “snack,” the staff handled everything with compassion, skill, and patience with all my questions and concerns. They all were calm, clear, and genuinely caring every step of the way. Thanks to their quick action and expertise, Vinnie is now home, safe, and back to his goofy self. This could’ve gone in a very different direction, and I’m so grateful it didn’t. Thank you to the doctors, techs, and every single person there who helped us through this scary weekend. You’re truly heroes in scrubs. ❤️🐾
Jun 22, 2025 · Lauren HippsFive Stars – Kindness and Care When We Needed It MostWhile we were traveling, our sweet dog Dixie—who was 16 and had been slowing down for a few weeks—took a sudden turn for the worse. We brought her to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City, where Dr. Hughes and her team showed us incredible compassion during one of the most difficult times in our lives. From the moment we arrived, we felt supported. Dr. Hughes spoke with honesty and warmth, helping us understand Dixie’s condition and what options were left. She and her staff treated Dixie with such tenderness, and gave us the time and space we needed to say goodbye with love and peace. Thanks to their kindness, Dixie was able to pass gently and with dignity. We’re so grateful for the care they gave to her, and to us. It made an unbearable moment a little more bearable.Thank you, Dr. Hughes and everyone at Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City, for helping us through this with such grace and heart.
Jun 11, 2025 · Dawn JonesMy dog Otto, handsome as the day is long (see attached photo for proof), needed to have his spleen removed after they discovered some concerning nodules during an ultrasound. Everything was explained thoroughly beforehand so I understood exactly what was going to occur. The procedure itself went well. He’s recovering so quick despite being almost 10 years old. One day later he was up and at em, looking for food and treats no doubt.Dr. Hughes is a top notch veterinarian and the staff truly cares about their patients. I’d highly recommend this practice for any pet emergency.
Feb 12, 2025 · Zack RexineI brought my parakeet here in an emergency situation, and this was the only place anywhere nearby that would see her without an appointment. Ultimately she was euthanized, which was a very difficult and emotional decision to make, but the staff was so kind and empathetic. That and the assurance that she received good care helped make the situation as bearable as possible. A week later I received a really sweet sympathy card from Dr. Frey, which I appreciated. I’m really grateful for the way they showed kindness to me and my pet, and would definitely recommend them.
