Eye Care for Animals - Pearland Reviews
This facility was amazing with the care they provided for my dog with lens luxation. He was able to get same day appointment, immediate treatment, and was given thorough instructions about possible future outcomes and treatments. Staff and Dr. Washington were kind and attentive.
Mar 25, 2025 · Kimmy PhuWe cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Washington and the team at Eye Care for Animals - Pearland. Our sweet 1-year-old Domestic Blue, Angel, developed what initially looked like a freckle on her iris. At first, we thought her eye color was just changing, but as the spots began multiplying and changing shape, we knew something more serious could be going on.From our first contact with the office, we were met with kindness, honesty, and professionalism. They were upfront about what to expect, including costs, and we felt confident we were in the right hands. At our initial appointment, Dr. Washington put us at complete ease. He explained that Angel could be facing Feline Iris Melanosis or Feline Diffuse Iris Melanoma (FDIM). He patiently walked us through every scenario, offering eye drops as a first step and a follow-up in 3 months rather than an immediate and painful biopsy. He answered every one of our many questions with clarity and compassion. You could tell he truly loves educating pet parents and wants them to understand and feel comfortable with the care their animals are receiving. His calm and thoughtful approach earned our trust immediately.About a month later, we noticed rapid changes in Angel’s eye—growth in size, shape, and number of spots, just as Dr. Washington had prepared us to watch for. We called in with our concerns and sent photos. Again, we were met with understanding, education, and care. The difficult decision of enucleation (eye removal) was on the table to prevent potential cancer from spreading. Even without a confirmed diagnosis at that time, we felt total peace in moving forward, thanks to Dr. Washington’s careful guidance. On surgery day, we were welcomed with empathy and professionalism. Dr. Washington even mentioned discussing Angel’s case with his wife, which truly showed how much he cared—it wasn’t just another case to him, it was personal. His passion and heart for his work are so evident, and the precision with which he performed the surgery was remarkable. When the pathology results came back, we learned that Angel did in fact have FDIM. The decision, as heartbreaking as it was, was the right one. And thanks to Dr. Washington’s expertise, we saved our sweet girl’s life. She has fully recovered, is just as beautiful as ever (pirate patch and all!), and is thriving with us.If you’re reading this review because your fur baby may be facing something similar—please trust Dr. Washington. He is exactly who you want in your corner. We only wish he offered general vet care because we’d never go anywhere else!
Jun 16, 2025 · Jenny LewisWe came here with my blind cat, Skylar, and had a great experience. The vet and staff were all very kind and patient. They offered her treats and went above and beyond on her care. I highly recommend this place!
