As a women-owned business, the center aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all clients, identifying as **LGBTQ+ friendly**. The practice strives to be a reliable 'one-stop shop' for the 'family pet,' offering everything from routine teeth cleaning to specialized services like cancer treatment and acupuncture.

**Mobile Phone:** +1 515-224-9747
Beyond the clinical specialization, the integration of multiple services is a key benefit. The facility acts as an **Animal Hospital**, a **Veterinary Pharmacy**, and a **Kennel**. This means a single, familiar location can provide necessary lab work, urgent care, heartworm medication refills, a teeth cleaning, and cat boarding. The ability to manage your pet's entire life cycle of needs—from dog training to **Senior Dog** care, all under one roof—saves time and ensures continuity of care.
While the center strives for excellence, clients should always feel empowered to ask straightforward questions about treatment plans, especially concerning older pets and anesthesia, to ensure they are comfortable with the care path. However, the availability of advanced, non-surgical options like **Laser Therapy** and **Acupunture** demonstrates a commitment to finding individualized solutions for complex animal health issues. For Iowans seeking a convenient, women-owned, comprehensive provider deeply invested in both preventative care and advanced diagnostics, Family Pet Veterinary Center is a compelling choice.

- Dental CleaningsProfessional dental cleanings help your pet maintain their best health. Using safe and modern ultrasonic scaling, we are able to clean each tooth thoroughly, both above and below the gum line. This helps prevent periodontal disease, breaks down calculus and leaves your pet’s mouth healthy and clean. Once the cleaning is complete, we perform a polishing treatment to create a lustrous, smoother surface on each tooth. This surface is more resistant to plaque build up. In addition, fluoride treatments can decrease tooth sensitivity and specific do-able home care will slow recurrence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- They only care about doing dental procedures on your animal. They are known for their dental care and do a good job but if your animal has other concerns they will likely be ignored. My cat has hyperthyroidism and that condition wasn’t being treated as they only wanted to do the expensive dental surgery. My cat is old so they also ignored the concerns I had about anesthesia use along with her other health concerns and if surgery was actually necessary considering she’s in poor health. They couldn’t even finish her dental surgery because an “emergency” came up so their best solution was to bring her back in two weeks. I took her to another vet to find out she also has a heart murmur and first stage kidney disease which was never disclosed to me at this clinic. I was pushed to my breaking point trying to get answers from anyone at this clinic but they could never give me straightforward answers which I found odd. I also found it odd that they couldn’t finish her surgery and didn’t seem concerned about scheduling her next surgery just two weeks away considering her old age and she wasn’t recovering well. Why couldn’t they finish the surgery and how is that appropriate just leaving the job half finished without proper after care? I was constantly getting “we should be able to do that” when asking them for help to order my cats prescription which is fully their job to do. They will use whatever excuse to justify their poor customer service and their lack of care for my animals was heartbreaking because I’ve been a loyal customer for years. You will likely get two differently versions of vet care depending on who you get and it’s clear they are not on the same page on how to treat animals. One tech told me my cat can go a week without her medicine and another told me it’s extremely detrimental to miss a dose. The back and forth along with lack of confidence I was getting in their answers left me more and more confused each visit. Putting this out there in case anyone else has been feeling like the service they’ve been receiving isn’t adequate and like they’ve been pushed to do unnecessary dental procedures on their animal especially if they are old or have other health concerns. It’s not okay to withhold information about your animals health especially for how much they charge per visit. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else where they care about your pet and not how much they can charge for everything. August 16 · Hannah Nation
- Simple, reliable, and fast. I felt welcomed when I walked in with my cat. I will most definitely come back to this amazing team of devoted individuals. March 17 · Azure Bryant
- I had to take my cat Hunter in for tests on March 9, 2023, to find out why he's been steadily losing weight. I'd never been to this veterinary clinic before. Both Sarah and Dr Ryan were very kind, helpful, sympathetic, caring and informative. The tests showed that Hunter's thyroid was hyper, so he was burning more calories than he was eating. I got medication to administer for two weeks, then have his thyroid checked again. I was very pleased with how gentle Hunter was treated and am looking forward to his checkup. - We have been bringing our cat here for 4 years and they're always wonderful and friendly. We got our cat in 2020 and he was already 6ish years old and these folks give me the best advice to keep him in tip top shape. They advise you on treatments but understand some things can get super expensive. But they don't overly pressure you, just give you the information to decide what's best for your pet. I love them 💗 August 19 · Kelli Turk
- Kind, compassionate, flexible when I needed to do day stays to be able to work while our pet was being seen. Have taken our cat and dog there 3 times. They are also affordable and mindful of what is most important or feasible for the pet owner's needs. Highly recommend August 31 · Abby S
