The team at Finan Animal Hospital understands that a vet visit can be a source of fear for many animals. They have implemented specific strategies to make the experience as positive as possible, such as providing separate entrances for cats and dogs, and conducting a large portion of the visit—from discussions to payment and scheduling—within the quiet comfort of the exam room. This attention to detail has been praised by clients who have witnessed a significant reduction in their pet's stress and anxiety. The hospital's focus extends beyond a single visit; they are committed to forming long-term relationships with pet families, offering continuous care and support. Whether it's a routine annual examination, a scheduled surgery, or managing a chronic disease, the staff takes the time to thoroughly explain every procedure and provide various options, empowering pet owners to make the best decisions for their animals. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I liked how the building has a separate entrance for cats and dogs. The inside is very open, and you are greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. I appreciated how they took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and gave me different options. I was impressed by how they could read Hank and what causes him more stress. For example, Hank does not like to be restrained, held tight by strangers, and they picked up on that right away and took the steps to make him more comfortable and less stressed. At my last visit with my prior Vet, they restrained him while placing a towel around his neck to hold him up and another towel to cover his face, and he went into a full-blown panic. He had none of that at Finan Animal Hospital and was much more relaxed. I also love how they go over instructions, take payment, and schedule your next appointment all in the exam room. It was so nice not to do all of that at the front desk when you have other dogs coming in and out. You're trying to control your dog and pay. I also appreciated that I had a new appointment next week for both of my dogs for a consult and nail trim, because I am trying to find a stress-free environment for them to get their nails trimmed, and Hank, my pug, ended up getting sick. They were fully booked when I called, but they still got him in for a first appointment that same day and took great care of him. I will be transferring my care to the facility from now on.
July 17 · Jill WojciechowskiThey always take the time to explain what Lilly needs. I have been taking Lilly there ever since I adoped her, they take the time to make her comfortable and calm. You won't be sorry for takng your pets there. They are the best.
July 15 · Mary OsuchWe have been seeing Dr. Kihn for about a year, and she has been nothing but amazing for my cat, Juno. She always provides the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidance and cares so much for each of her feline and canine patients. We are very lucky to have her as our veterinarian. The staff at Finan are also extremely responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. If you live in the area and are looking for a new vet, Finan is recommended :)
August 29 · Wendy LeeFrom the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and all the staff were so friendly and compassionate. My sweet kitty was diagnosed with some bad news and the staff was helpful with everything single step as well as my emotions. They didn't have an oxygen cage but they went out of their way to make one to accommodate her. Plan to return with my other kitty for a annual checkup.
June 03 · Micki IvyA few years ago, I brought my dog to this clinic, and the experience still weighs heavily on me. I came in looking for help and answers, but instead, I felt like the staff jumped immediately to the worst-case scenario. Before doing much of anything, the conversation quickly turned to my dog being "old" and that euthanasia might be the best or only option. It felt like they had already written him off without offering real guidance or exploring other possibilities. When I asked if they could at least do imaging to understand what was going on, they agreed to an ultrasound. I decided to get a second opinion at the ER. Based on that, the ER sent us back to our primary vet to get a stomach mass removed, where they eventually did surgery. I hoped that would be the turning point—but unfortunately, things only got worse from there. After the surgery, my dog had to be taken to the emergency vet three separate times due to complications. Each time was terrifying. It was the ER vet who pointed out that the surgical scar was unusually large for the type of procedure that was done. They even recommended I stop going back to this original clinic and seek care elsewhere, which I ultimately did. What stands out to me most is how unsupported I felt through the entire process. From being told euthanasia was the best route before any real diagnostics, to the post-surgical complications, to having another vet express concern about the quality of care—we were never truly given direction or empathy. This is not how any pet or pet owner should be treated.I cannot recommend this place. If I hadn’t gone to the ER for a second opinion, my dog might not have had the extra time we ended up getting together. Please consider going elsewhere if you want vets who will take the time to actually listen, evaluate, and advocate for your pet. Today Willie is 13 years old still living his best life. I am thankful that I advocated for him and the ER vets supported us. Please please please, always advocate for your pets.
