Five Points Animal Clinic Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the heart of Columbia, South Carolina, a place where the love for pets runs deep, finding a reliable and compassionate veterinary team is paramount. Five Points Animal Clinic, a long-standing fixture in the community, has established itself as a trusted partner for pet owners seeking high-quality veterinary care. The clinic operates as a small animal hospital, providing a wide array of services for both dogs and cats, and has built a strong reputation for treating clients like family. The practice is guided by a philosophy of combining professional veterinary medicine with a personal touch, ensuring every visit is as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both the pet and their owner. The overwhelming sentiment from long-time clients, as expressed in a heartfelt review from the Johnson Family, is that the clinic and its staff, including Dr. Bierman, feel like an integral part of their team. This sense of family is particularly evident in the way the staff handles sensitive and difficult situations, such as helping a beloved pet cross the "rainbow bridge" with grace and peace. Their ability to manage even "ornery" animals with patience and skill is a testament to their dedication and expertise. While a very different and highly distressing review exists regarding a specific incident involving a pet's death and a subsequent communication breakdown, this feedback underscores the importance of every interaction, particularly during times of high stress and grief. The incident, which resulted in the client being "fired," highlights a serious disconnect in customer service. It is a stark contrast to the numerous other positive reviews that praise the staff’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. The clinic’s commitment to keeping "animal best friends healthy" is a mission that resonates deeply with its clientele, making it a valued part of the South Carolina pet-loving community. This duality of experiences is a reminder that while no place is perfect, the consistent positive feedback from many long-term clients speaks to a core commitment to providing excellent and compassionate care, which is what pet owners ultimately seek.

What is worth choosing
When considering a veterinarian in Columbia, South Carolina, Five Points Animal Clinic stands out as a strong and reputable choice for several key reasons. The most compelling aspect of this practice is the strong sense of community and family that clients consistently feel. As one review from the Johnson Family passionately expresses, the clinic’s team feels like an essential part of their pet-care journey, a partner they can trust implicitly. This trust is built on a foundation of compassionate veterinary care, where pets are treated with patience and love, even when they are "ornery" or stressed. The positive feedback also highlights the clinic's ability to navigate emotionally charged situations, such as a pet's passing, with a level of grace and support that provides immense comfort to grieving owners. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We’ve been coming to 5 points vet for many years for multiple pets (dogs & cats). Dr. Bierman and his entire staff very gracefully & peacefully assisted me in helping my best boy cat cross the rainbow bridge in November. Yesterday, they worked miracles with my ornery girl cat throughout her entire examine which put my heart at ease. I can’t say enough positive things about the practice. From the second you walk thru the door you feel like you are with family. Thank yall so so so much for being part of our team, and for keeping our animal best friends healthy! Yall are the best! -The Johnson Family
July 10 · Rachel GolsonI was a client of Five Points for several years with my Gold Retriever and our tabby cat. My dog died about 10 days after an elective surgery we had done there. The emergency vet stated there was some type of internal bleeding. I was very close with the dog. A few weeks later my cat started throwing up. I foolishly waited to take him in to Five Points first thing in the morning. He was not doing well by that point. It was 8am and the female working the front desk said the soonest she could give me an appointment was 8:45. I told her I don’t think he was going to make it that long without intervention. I asked her if she could move me up considering the death of my dog two weeks earlier. This offended her and the other tech. They said it was too early to put up with that kind of behavior. I was probably stressed considering the condition of my animal, but that is all I said was surely they could get me something earlier. The last thing they told me was I should find another vet because I wouldn’t be welcome there any longer.I rushed to the emergency vet on the north side of town. I heard my kitty give its last weak mew in the back seat. He was gone when I pulled in the parking lot of CVETS. It was 8:40.To add further insult, I received a letter from the Vet, firing me as a client. He had attempted to call my spouse, but never reached out to me. I am heartbroken that my golden is gone, further dismayed about my cat and the attitude of the vet and his staff.
November 07 · Maxwell OliverThe staff and providers at Five Points Animal Clinic are always kind and compassionate with my dogs, and they always explain things clearly to me. I have taken both my dogs there for years and would recommend them to anyone who values good pet care from good people.
July 19 · Lorenz David RamsauerI have been bringing my dogs here for the past 4 years and the staff is truly amazing. Dr. Bierman is such a kind human along with his wife and the rest of the staff! He has treated all of my dogs and many fosters I have brought in for care. I currently have a sweet baby with a blood cancer but because of his excellent care, she continues to thrive over a year after we found the cancer was covering 90% of her liver. Would recommend to everyone in Columbia if you want people who treat your babies like their own! Also, the front desk knows me by name which is wonderful when I call and something not great is going on. Shout out to Jenna who is always very wonderful!
June 17 · Molly BloomPolly and Darwin had their first visit here today. The staff was great, the atmosphere was calm and perfect for these two. Dr. Bierman was great, he even got on the ground to examine Polly. Glad we found this office on our first try in Columbia.
