- Pet Ear Cleaning
Ear cleaning is a simple procedure where we use a pet-approved ear cleaning solution and paper towel to clean your pet’s ears. Our staff is highly trained in the anatomy of your pet’s ear to appropriately and safely clean without damaging the ear canal or ear drum.
- Pet Ear Hair Plucking
Some dogs have a lot of fur in the ear canal. This fur traps wax and debris, which can cause irritation and ear infections. We can quickly pluck out the fur, helping reduce the chance of infection.
- Pet Toe Nail Trims
We offer nail trims, making sure to cut the nails as short as possible without damaging the quick (the blood supply to the nail). Regular nail trims improve nail health. They also allow us to check the nails and paws for any potential problems.
- Pet Tooth Brushing
At Van Crest Animal Hospital, we can give your pet’s teeth a good and thorough brushing. We recommend brushing your pet’s teeth regularly to help reduce plaque accumulation and fight against dental disease. We are happy to teach you how to brush your pet’s teeth at home.
- Sanitary Pet Clips (Face, Feet, and Rear)
Does your pet frequently get food or feces stuck in their fur? We offer sanitary clips of the face, feet, and rear. This is the pain-free clipping of the fur around the face or rear, shortening the fur to keep the areas clean and free of debris.

- Pet's Health
- Pet's Oral
- Pet's Teeth
- Preventative Dental Care
We recommend regular dental cleanings for your pet, as well as at-home dental care such as brushing your pet’s teeth to help keep their teeth healthy. Bad breath, abnormal or excessive drooling, difficulty or pain when chewing, or red or bleeding gums are all signs of dental disease.

- Veterinary Acute Illness and Injury
Just like people, pets can get sick or injure themselves. Unlike people, they can be very good at hiding an illness until it becomes severe. If your pet is showing signs of illness, such as lethargy, changes in personality, unexplained weight loss, or respiratory signs, please call us immediately.
- Veterinary Allergy Testing
Pet allergies are a common problem, but symptoms associated with animal allergies can also be an indication of more serious pet health conditions. When necessary, our veterinary staff will perform blood work and other tests, such as food trials, to determine the cause of your pet’s discomfort.
- Veterinary Cytology and Biopsy
Cytology is the microscopic examination of cell samples. It is often used to diagnose growths or masses, assess bodily fluids or any abnormal fluids that may accumulate, such as around the heart or lungs. A biopsy is the surgical removal of a tissue sample from the suspected lesion or growth.
- Veterinary Dental Cleanings and Extractions
The comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment is a same-day outpatient procedure. Your pet will be placed under general anesthesia with a protected airway. Once your pet is asleep, your veterinarian will perform a complete oral health assessment.
- Veterinary Geriatric Blood Work
As your pet ages, checking their blood work becomes even more important. They are more prone to issues such as kidney or liver disease, which can become very serious very quickly. We recommend blood work for your senior pet at least twice a year.
- Veterinary Heartworm and Tick-Borne Disease Testing
Using just a few drops of blood, we are able to screen your pet for four potential infections using a test called a 4DX. This test takes only a few minutes and can show the presence of heartworms, Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichiosis.
- Veterinary Oral and Topical Preventatives
We recommend a number of oral and topical parasite preventatives. These preventatives protect your pet from internal parasites such as heartworm, roundworms, and tapeworms, as well as repelling ticks and fleas. Ask one of our veterinarians about which type of preventative is right for your pet.
- Veterinary Orthopedic Surgery
We are proud to offer orthopedic surgical procedures for injuries and conditions to the musculoskeletal system of your pet’s body. We utilize state-of-the-art tools and monitoring equipment to enhance our orthopedic surgery capabilities.
- Veterinary Parasitic Analysis
Parasitic analysis includes the examination of your pet’s blood or feces for signs of parasites. Most parasites shed their ova (eggs) inside your pet’s intestinal tract, meaning they can be found in your pet’s feces. Fecal analysis allows us to find these eggs and diagnose a parasitic infection.
- Veterinary Practice
- Veterinary Radiology
Imaging with X-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Our digital machine delivers images in seconds. Our veterinarians can review these pictures and electronically send them to radiologists if needed.
- Veterinary Skin and Ear Infections
If your pet is showing signs of an ear infection, bring them to Van Crest Animal Hospital for prompt diagnosis and effective treatment. Your pet will be required to have an ear cytology to determine the type of ear infection they have.
- Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery
We perform many types of soft tissue surgeries at our hospital. Soft tissue surgeries are those that are not associated with bone. These surgeries can provide many benefits to pets. Probably the most common soft tissue surgery performed on pets is the removal of masses or lumps.
- Veterinary Ultrasound
Ultrasound is an incredible, non-invasive diagnostic tool that uses a probe that emits high-frequency sound waves to create a picture of what is inside your pet’s body in real-time. This allows us to examine blood flow, intestinal health, organ size, and organ function, or even find bladder stones.
- Veterinary Urinalysis
Urinalysis is a type of test that checks for levels of specific chemicals within your pet’s urine. Abnormal levels of certain chemicals can be a sign of illnesses. Urinalysis screens for imbalances that can be an indication of kidney disease and infections, bacterial infections, and more.
- Veterinary Vomiting and Diarrhea
Vomiting and diarrhea can quickly get out of control, causing severe dehydration in pets. They can also be symptoms of an underlying illness or problem. If your pet is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea, please give us a call to schedule an appointment.
- Veterinary Wellness Blood Work
Wellness blood work includes comprehensive chemistry panels as well as complete blood cell counts. This testing examines the size and quantity of the various blood cell types and gives us information on electrolytes and organ function. The information that is provided gives us baseline levels.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This vet and his whole staff are my hero’s. About a month ago I had to rush my 15 year old pup to the er I made it just in time to have to say goodbye. 2 days later I got a call from a lady that was supposed to be watching my other 2 while I was dealing with the death and cremation of the other one telling me I need to hurry up and come get my 9 year old the son of the 15 year old. That a cable got wrapped around his arm and they thought it was broke long story short no it wasn’t broke that cable had been wrapped around his a for 4 days and was dead I took him to the er already knowing his leg was gone but I had them start the antibiotics through iv while I looked for a surgeon I called 3 and got told $1500 to $4000 but when I called van crest and told them my story the tech took down my info and I had the er send his file to them They called me back and said $900 $400 down and the rest by Monday all because they have a big heart. They did a wonderful job and my boy is doing excellent. I could never repay them for what they done.
April 23 · Paige BuntonWe have been going to Van Crest now for a few years and have been really pleased with the care both of our dogs receive from Dr. Chambers and Dr. C. Our 7-year-old Lab recently underwent surgery to remove and biopsy some cancerous skin lumps. After the procedure, Dr. Chambers took the time to speak with us in detail, making us feel comfortable, informed, and reassured. He was incredibly thorough in explaining his findings and walked us through the pathology report in a way that was easy to understand. We are so grateful for the compassionate, high-quality care our fur baby received.
August 14 · Kamryn SpurlinI’ve been taking my pets here for years now, and recently had to put my elderly dog to rest. Dr chambers is the best… I called up there with an emergency and they were able to get me in the same day. They kept my sweet boy for a few nights and tried their best to get him back up and walking again. The staff were super friendly and very understanding. They gave me as much time as I needed with my boy, before and after the procedure. I’m over a month late with this review as I’ve been grieving, but I do want people to know the wonderful experience I had with this vet. This was such a hard time for me and they did everything they could for my comfort. I got my sweet boys ashes a few days later, it also came with a paw print in clay. The vet themselves also mailed me a card that the whole staff wrote in, with a printed paw print as well as a patch of his fur that I requested. I’m very grateful to have gone through this vet during this hard time. Thank you van crest! And rest easy my sweet boy, Ryker🖤
June 17 · April JacksonCannot recommend Van Crest enough. Dr. Nick was able to see my 4 stray kittens next day for wellness and vaccines along with a more urgent issue for one of them. He was very thorough and took so much time evaluating all of them, and explaining my options for treatment. Prices are VERY reasonable. I have not had the same experience at other veterinary offices in this area.
June 19 · Laken HicksAs a fellow business owner, I had a great experience with Dr. Nick and his team! I didn’t have to wait forever to go into the treatment room. (Which was the case at other places I’ve been in the past) Dr. Nick really seemed like he cared and wanted to cover each inquiry I was coming in for. He made sure all my questions were answered, and he was thorough. He actually came into the room to do the exam which I really appreciated. The quality of care was top-notch. Not that the price was a big factor but I was pleasantly surprised with the cost of my visit given all the treatment and medication I got. Thank you so much VanCrest! I wish I came here earlier for care!
