Heights Veterinary Clinic - Northwest presents a mixed but generally positive picture through client feedback, with several key features and highlights:
Attentive and Caring Staff: Positive reviews highlight "Very attentive staff from reception to the physicians," indicating a generally high level of care and engagement from the team. The first reviewer was pleased that their "baby" was doing "MUCH better," reflecting effective treatment.
No Push for Unnecessary or Most Expensive Treatments (as experienced by some): One highly positive highlight from a client was the appreciation that the clinic "didn't push for the most expensive diagnostics and treatments." This suggests a willingness to consider the pet owner's "genuine concern for our baby" and potentially their budget, responding accordingly.
Integrative and Comprehensive Approach: The clinic explicitly states its commitment to combining traditional Western medicine with integrative therapies like acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, and laser therapy. This offers a broader range of treatment options for pet owners seeking holistic care.
Advanced Technology: They boast being an "industry leader in surgical, diagnostic, and medical technology," providing "state-of-the-art treatment." This commitment to modern veterinary tools can lead to more accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
Exotic Pet Care: Their ability to care for a wide variety of pets, including ferrets, guinea pigs, and snakes, is a significant highlight for owners of non-traditional companions, a service not all clinics offer.
Potential for Varied Client Experiences: While some clients praise their transparency and attentiveness, one review outlines a concerning experience regarding initial cost estimates for an unexamined pet. This suggests that communication regarding procedures and costs, especially for urgent or non-routine visits, might benefit from consistent clarification to prevent misunderstandings and perceived "shady" practices. It's important for pet owners to feel comfortable asking for explanations and challenging estimates if they seem disproportionate to the suspected issue.

Apr 09, 2025 · Urbyn MystSince moving into this area I have taken my pets to Heights Veterinary Clinic Northwest 2 or 3 times I always had a pleasant experience until today. I called for an appointment saying that my dog I thought had a sticker burr between her toes and asked for a same-day appointment. I got a call back and was told I would need to bring my pet in and leave her and the doctor could look at her around lunch time and I could pick her up later in the day. Subsequent to that I got a call I guess from the billing person who told me that the doctor wanted a estimate generated for charges that I would incur to make sure that I'm going to be okay with them and that was followed up with an email of estimated charges.I have had dogs my entire life and have made many visits to veterinary clinics. Usually my pet would be examined and then I would be presented with an estimate of recommended services for me to agree to. I think that's pretty standard operating procedure. For whatever reason today was different. Without even examining my little 18 lb Boston Terrier who I said I think has a sticker burr between her toes, I was presented with an estimate for almost $700 which included sedation 3 X-rays and a radiology consultation as if my pet had been hit by a car. It was mind-boggling! Where did they come up with these charges without ever doing an exam? It gave the impression that either they felt like I couldn't afford to walk through the door of their clinic, which I said I had been to two or three times in the past and had always paid my bill when presented, or that they planned on billing high cost and totally unnecessary services and wanted to make sure I would fall for that. Either way, it's very shady!I will not be back to Heights Veterinary Clinic.
Jul 03, 2025 · Biff BurrisI just want to sincerely thank the clinic, and especially Dr. Pina, for all the support and the prompt attention we received when we brought in my little dog for evaluation. Even though the final diagnosis was not favorable, they guided us through the process with compassion and humanity as we said goodbye to our beloved pet. The gesture of sending us a condolence letter only reaffirmed to me that this is a truly caring veterinarian who genuinely cares about you and your pet. Without a doubt, I will return when I have a new pet. Thank you.
Jun 13, 2025 · Fernanda V CastilloThe staff was helpful over the phone with advice on how to best help the stray and how to protect our other cat. We were seen promptly upon arrival, the place was clean and welcoming. I sometimes get overwhelmed by the allergens at our other vet, so this was a surprise feature.
Jun 13, 2025 · Micro SeismI’ve been taking both of my dogs to Heights Veterinary Clinic NW since moving to Houston in 2021. I’ve had nothing but exceptional experiences with the team here, from routine veterinary care to emergencies. I’m a dog behavior consultant and refer many clients, as well as friends, to this clinic - with several Fear Free veterinarians - due to their commitment to exceptional veterinary care. Dr. Rodriguez and Dr. Slack in particular have been absolutely wonderful to work with. I’m incredibly appreciative to Heights Vet Clinic.
