Hershey Animal Emergency Center Reviews
Highly recommend! The receptionist was very kind and calming when I called about bringing my cat in. They took him back quickly to give an exam and triage him. I could tell there were more urgent cases than ours but even then, the wait time wasn’t bad at all. Everyone was very kind and communicative. My cat ended up needing to stay overnight and I’m glad he did because they gave text and call updates. They did an ultrasound the next morning which was the next part of our treatment plan with our regular vet so it was nice getting it done quickly instead of having to wait a week for a specialist elsewhere. They did blood work up that our regular vet didn’t do yet and discovered chronic underlying issues that we didn’t know about. Very grateful for that so now we can keep an eye on these things. He is doing so much better now. Highly recommend this emergency vet from start to finish. Will definitely return if we need their services again!
May 16, 2025 · Debra THAEC has some of the best doctors and nurses in central PA. My yorkie presented with symptoms of pancreatitis. This was not her first bout of pancreatitis. The last time she got this we ended up in an animal hospital outside of Philly. It was so nice to have an option closer to home with the same level of care and expertise. I would trust the medical staff at HAEC with anything. Whatever the wait time is, it’s worth it. The medical care and love your pet will receive is second to none.
Jun 27, 2025 · Marcia LampmanDr. Hartzell and staff were amazing!!!! Most vets are intimidated by our Rottie but not this crew. They were gentle, caring and patient with us and explained the treatment options without pressuring us into anything. Would highly recommend to anyone. Wish Dr Hatzell could see our pooch regularly!UPDATE: returned a week later because our pup was still not improving. After being admitted, it was discovered that he had tumors all over his abdomen. The doctors and staff took care of our pup but we had to make the decision to put him down. They were great through the entire process and allowed us to bring our children today good bye. We were able to spend as much time as we needed to say goodbye! One of the hardest things we had to do with our kids. The staff here are so caring and supportive. Would highly recommend this place to anyone needing emergency care for their pet!
Mar 25, 2025 · Eileen CzarneckiHershey Animal Emergency Center is outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond with an incredible level of compassion and care. They took the time to thoroughly explain every step of Willie Nelson’s treatment plan, which gave us so much peace of mind during a very stressful time. The facility itself is so welcoming, with cozy rooms that include a loveseat, Alexa, a side table, and a lamp, making it feel more like home than a hospital. We were there for 7 hours on our first visit, and despite the long stay, the kindness and attentiveness of the staff made all the difference. The next day, we had to return, and they admitted Willie for an overnight stay. Throughout the 24 hours he was there, we received frequent text updates and even pictures, which meant the world to us. While veterinary care can be pricey—especially for overnight emergency treatment—the team made sure to walk us through the treatment plan and associated costs every step of the way, so we were never caught off guard.Special thanks to Willie’s nurse, Sierra, and his doctor, Dr. Dignan. Their loving and gentle approach made a difficult situation so much easier. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during a crisis. Thank you all for everything you did for our pup.
Jan 03, 2025 · Audrey MediumStaff are exceptionally professional and polite. The receptionists handled upset clients with ease. The technicians were knowledgeable and handled Oscar with care. The doctor explained everything well and prepared me for all foreseeable complications of my pet's procedure. The facility was very clean and bright. The prices were reasonable, especially given that they are an emergency facility.I am very thankful for the care that my pet received.
