Preventive care often includes discussions on nutrition, weight management, and parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm).
Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: The hospital would be equipped to diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions affecting various organ systems. This includes managing infections, allergies, digestive issues, and other common ailments.

In-House Laboratory and Diagnostics: Most modern veterinary hospitals have an in-house laboratory for quick diagnostic test results, such as blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams. Digital X-rays are also standard for non-invasive imaging of bones and internal organs.

Specialized Handling for Reactive Dogs: A specific highlight from a customer review indicates their expertise in handling reactive or not-friendly dogs, suggesting they employ specific techniques and a knowledgeable approach to make such pets comfortable during visits.
Compassionate End-of-Life Care: While a customer review brought up a challenging experience related to the handling of remains, providing cremation options and supporting families through the difficult process of euthanasia is a standard offering for veterinary hospitals.

Expert Handling of Reactive Dogs: A significant highlight is their highly effective approach to managing reactive and less-friendly dogs. Customers praise the staff for knowing "exactly how to handle the situation and make him as comfortable as possible," even during emergency visits. This specialized skill provides immense relief and reassurance for owners of such pets, who often face considerable stress during vet visits.
Positive Emergency Visit Experiences for Challenging Cases: For pet owners with reactive dogs, an emergency vet visit can be particularly daunting. The testimonial highlights that what "thought would have went much worse was actually the best vet visit he’s ever had," underscoring the hospital's capability and expertise in high-stress situations with difficult patients.

Commitment to Pet Comfort: The efforts made to ensure a reactive dog is "as comfortable as possible" demonstrate a focus on minimizing stress for their animal patients, a valuable quality for any veterinary practice.
It's important for potential clients to also consider all aspects of customer service. While the animal handling is highly praised, one review highlighted a deeply distressing experience regarding the handling of a pet's remains and subsequent client communication, which suggests areas where consistency in compassionate client interaction beyond the immediate medical visit could be improved. This feedback, while specific, indicates that the overall client experience, particularly during sensitive times, should be taken into account.

Jersey Shore Veterinary Hospital Reviews
I highly recommend taking your pets here, especially if you have a reactive dog.We have a reactive & not friendly Dutch Shepherd. They knew exactly how to handle the situation and make him as comfortable as possible before doing what they needed to do.Of our many vet visits with him, meeting a new staff for the first time in an emergency I thought would have went much worse but was actually the best vet visit he’s ever had.
Mar 16, 2025 · daniel scardignoThey say you have to take the bad with the good but is it always true? I've dealt with Jersey Shore Vet for a couple of years and have had good experiences before this last time. A couple of weeks ago we had to let go of our 13yr lab pit mix named "Jake". As hard as it was it was necessary and we needed to stop the suffering. When we finished our final good byes were chose the cremation option which would allow us to have his ashes in our home with us. We paid premium for this service and we're told we will get a phone call when to pick up his remains. Days went by with no phone call and we waited patiently for his remains. One day during while we were out the mailman knocks on our door with a package that had to be signed for. I joked with my girlfriend and said could you imagine that's Jake's ashes and we said that would be so wrong and disrespectful to our family. We'll it was his ashes . It was president's weekend and we couldn't get to the post office until today only to find out it was Jake's ashes. Can you imagine the gut punch . I called and I wasn't pleasant but I didn't yell trying to express how I felt and was hung up on by the front end worker who honestly didn't have an ounce of remorse and just couldn't let someone vent. I just want to leave off by saying the flight could be good but if you crash at the end was it a good flight
Feb 19, 2025 · Milton RiveraOur 10 year old Australian Shepherd Haven was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and had her leg amputated this year. She had always been the happiest dog and took on these new challenges with a smile. For ten years she stood by my side through every high and low, and gave her all in everything we did. In her I had a true partner, a twin soul, the light to my life. Though she adapted well to life on three paws and fought cancer like a warrior, she suddenly became very uncomfortable and our fears of the cancer finding its way to her lungs were comfirmed at a trip to the vet. We had never been to Jersey Shore Veterinary, but could not wait for our vet to be available, as she was suddenly in horrible pain from the tumors in her lungs and told us it was time. The staff at Jersey Shore were incredibly compassionate, empathetic, caring, and patient. We were given as much time as we needed to say our final goodbyes to our best friend and even though they didn't know us or our Haven they treated us with true kindness and respect. We received a thoughtfully written and beautiful sympathy card from Dr. Fenwick and Taylor in the days after Haven's passing along with her paw prints. I wish you could have known Haven, but am so grateful for the care you gave her and the compassion you showed us. We hope to come back to you under happier circumstances. Thank you.
Oct 28, 2023 · Sharon EllenderMy mom brought her elderly cat in for an ear issue and the vet told her that nothing could be done and the cat would die within the year anyway. They said to use superglue to stop the bleeding. Theysaid the cut was caused by cancer but no tests were done. My mom was SO UPSET and went for a second opinion. The next place she went to did a minor surgery and the cat is much happier and healthier now. I would not recommend this vet hospital, they are not kind and do not care or act like they care at all. Do not bring your pets here - 0 stars
Apr 24, 2025 · Amanda KellerThey saved my cat when he had a urinary blockage. They were very kind when I was very stressed and worried and even have coffee and snacks.
