Knox Veterinary Clinic

Veterinarian ★4.0

2235 US-35, Knox, IN 46534, USA

4.0
The staff has been very polite and professional. They have been reasonable on the cost of our dogs surgery and also did a good job. Overall, we have been happy with them.We had to take Potpie there recently, and we took him the first day, and they gave him antibiotics and nausea & pain pills. Then overnight, he got much worse, and he became somewhat lethargic. After taking him back to the vet, he informed us that he didn't have the equipment to do the necessary testing. I just wish he would of referred me to a vet hosp. On day 1. Do to the pain and suffering he was in, we chosed to have him euthanized. He wasnt given a shot to sedate him first and he seamed to suffer. It was heartbreaking. No animal should ever suffer while being euthanized!! I would of gladly paid for the first shot to sedate him. It's partially my fault. - Jeff Singleton

Knox Veterinary Clinic Introduce

For pet owners in Knox, Indiana, and the surrounding communities, having access to a reliable and compassionate veterinary clinic is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. Knox Veterinary Clinic is a local practice dedicated to providing a wide range of medical and surgical services for small animals. This clinic is well-known for its professional and caring staff, who work to ensure that every pet receives the best possible treatment, from routine check-ups to more complex procedures.

The clinic's mission is to provide complete veterinary care throughout the life of your pet, focusing on prevention, early detection, and effective treatment. This holistic approach to pet health is appreciated by clients who have been with the clinic for a long time. One client shared their positive experience, stating, "The staff has been very polite and professional," and that they were "happy" with the overall experience, especially with the reasonable cost and good job done on their dog's surgery. This positive feedback highlights the clinic's commitment to both high-quality medical care and fair pricing, which are key factors for pet owners.

However, a review also points to a very serious issue, with a client expressing deep pain and disappointment over their pet’s euthanasia. The review mentions that the vet lacked the necessary equipment for a proper diagnosis on day one and that the pet "seamed to suffer" during the final procedure because a sedative was not administered. This is a crucial piece of feedback that speaks to the importance of open communication and a full understanding of a clinic's capabilities. While the other review speaks to a positive and professional experience, this specific case is a reminder for pet owners to ask detailed questions about a clinic's protocols and services, particularly for serious or end-of-life care. The positive review from another client, who has a "difficult" dog, offers a counterpoint, praising the staff for being "always nice and helpful" and the vet for being "very kind and explains everything." This indicates a high level of compassion and patience, which is vital for any pet owner, especially those with anxious or reactive animals.

What is worth choosing

For residents of Knox, Indiana, and the surrounding area, Knox Veterinary Clinic is a compelling choice for a variety of reasons. The most notable highlight is the clinic's commitment to combining traditional medical and surgical care with modern technology, such as laser surgery and therapy. These advanced tools can lead to less pain and faster recovery for your pet, which is a significant benefit. The fact that the clinic has a reputation for being professional and polite, as noted in a review, and has a track record of good surgical outcomes at a reasonable cost, makes it a valuable option for pet owners on a budget.

However, the critical review regarding a difficult end-of-life experience is an important point for potential clients to consider and discuss with the clinic's staff. It underscores the importance of fully understanding a clinic's capabilities and protocols, especially for sensitive procedures. On the other hand, the praise for how the staff handles difficult pets, like "Pluto," highlights their compassion and patience. This demonstrates that the clinic can be an excellent fit for those with anxious or special-needs animals. The combination of comprehensive care, reasonable prices, modern technology, and compassionate staff makes Knox Veterinary Clinic a strong contender. While no clinic is without its flaws, the general consensus of professional and kind service, along with its accessibility, makes it a place worth considering for the long-term health of your pet.
