Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
Used Banfield for almost 16 years thru 2 different dogs. Recently after COVID I noticed things have gone downhill. Every 6mths I go back it's completely different staff, Sundays don't exist, services I request aren't done as well as before -- lots of negatives. 1st time ever in 8 yrs of owning my dog has anyone said anything negative about my dog, apparently after trying to put her in a cage in a way she didn't like, she let them know. Probably due to unskilled staff. The solution was to drug the dog lol. Not going to happen. Cancelled my membership after almost 2 decades. My sister is even a vet at Banfield in California so I tried to stay loyal but the services are now junk. I always get sent home to give my dogs their meds or do a fecal sample. That's what I paid you to do, figure it out. I'm not doing 50% of your job. For years now. Unacceptable. Store always smells like urine and poop too. Sorry Banfield I loved you but it's just too much now. I'll go with a private vet from now on.
May 15, 2025 · Al BSo far we are very pleased with Banfield. We were with VCA in Madison, NJ, but when their Care Club price went up once again, we just couldn't continue there. Oddly, Banfield & VCA are both owned by Mars, Inc.

Feb 19, 2025 · ValeriaRecently came to Banfield about two weeks ago and the staff was overall really kind and loving. However, I bought my dog in highly concerned that she fell ill seemingly out of nowhere. Thought it was a UTI maybe. They ran bloodwork, her bloodwork was extremely concerning so they proceeded to ask me if she got into antifreeze or anything toxic. They tried telling me to go get a $800 ultrasound somewhere else to see if she ate something. In the end, i paid $500 for no answers, diagnosis, or treatment. I ended up taking her to another vet the next day, that vet looked at the same bloodwork from Banfield and was able to conclude that she may have Addison disease. Which after more tests, turned out to be true. My dog was going through a life threatening addison crisis and Banfield asked if she ate Antifreeze…BUT i know mistakes happen and misdiagnosis, even with is humans. It just sucks that something so serious wasnt able to be caught.
Jan 03, 2025 · Sade MorrisDistance and location is good. Doctor's are good. Staff fair, as expected but no as above. Expecting more understanding, patience, compassion, informative.I want to add that our beautiful companion Yorkie terrier Bella Perez passed on in March, never received a call from Banfield, my daughter tried several times to contact them when we were struggling with her health issues, unprofessionalism was very low. Appts as a emergency poor, we requested blood work for an emergency surgery kidney stones waited time one week was never performed because we had no choice to look for other options, found a clinic who took blood and noticed Bella needed to get fluids injected. So we went back to Banfield and they refused to do it, they instead told us to take Bella to a hospital, which we did. We took her to Oradell hospital which she was seen and was admitted for test, fluids, all her vitals we're low, she had not only bladder stones but heart and kidney failure. So many years seen by Banfield only on professional lady doctor was the one that noticed her bladder stone of a greater size, weeks before this happened. We did everything in our power to keep up with vaccines, check up years after years, we had since she was a baby, we lost our Yorkie, we had to let her go, we know she was over her years but a lot of things need to be addressed on this situations so ppl be aware and prepared. Our Bela Perez l was everything to us , specially my daughter lost her friend for life, till today we cry. No even one call from them at least to tell my how sorry they're. Or sorry for your loss. The iconic thing is that we're stuck with the insurance for a whole year because they don't let us cancel.
